The REOLINK Altas Go PT is an outdoor camera that connects over a 3G/4G LTE cellular network instead of Wi-Fi, and charges from a 12W solar panel. That combination is meant for places with no router or mains power nearby, such as a farm gate, stable or construction site. It also pans and tilts to follow movement.

Cellular instead of Wi-Fi

The camera uses a SIM card and mobile data to send alerts and video. REOLINK lists compatibility with major carriers such as AT&T and T-Mobile, and says you can activate and refill the SIM and track data use in the REOLINK app. 100MB of trial data is mentioned. Coverage varies by location, so a camera is only as reliable as the mobile signal where it sits. Check signal strength with a phone on the same carrier first, and look at the current data plan terms.

Battery and solar panel

A 2000mAh battery is rated by REOLINK for up to six months of use in standard mode, and the 12W solar panel is there to keep it charged. Real battery life depends on how often the camera triggers, signal quality, temperature and sunlight, so the six-month figure is a best-case estimate for standard use.

Pan, tilt and auto tracking

The camera pans 355° and tilts 90°. REOLINK says auto tracking follows moving people, cars or animals so they stay in frame, which helps cover an area that a fixed lens would miss. This is why the listing names yards, farms, stables and construction sites.

2K ColorX night vision

At 2K resolution, the picture has more detail than standard HD. ColorX is REOLINK's full-colour night vision, designed to produce colour images in low light without a bright spotlight, so the camera stays discreet.

Pre-recording and storage

The camera captures up to 10 seconds of footage before an event, so the moments leading up to a trigger are saved. A microSD card of up to 512GB can be used for local storage; the card is sold separately. REOLINK frames local storage as a privacy benefit.

Who it suits

It suits rural properties, remote outbuildings, work sites and any spot out of Wi-Fi range, for owners who are comfortable managing a data plan. It is less suited to somewhere with weak cellular coverage or little sun.

What to check before you buy

  • Cellular coverage: confirm a usable signal from your carrier at the mounting spot.
  • Data plan: check current plan terms and how much data your usage needs.
  • microSD card: it is sold separately, so plan the storage you need.
  • Sunlight: the panel needs regular direct light.
  • Mounting: follow the manual for height, panel angle and tracking zones.
  • Privacy and local rules: check rules on recording public areas or neighbouring land.

The short version

  • A 2K pan-and-tilt camera using 3G/4G LTE, with no Wi-Fi needed.
  • 12W solar panel and 2000mAh battery rated for up to six months in standard mode.
  • 355° pan, 90° tilt, auto tracking and ColorX colour night vision.
  • 10-second pre-recording; microSD up to 512GB, sold separately.
  • Mobile coverage and a data plan are the key things to confirm.
