The monTEK HW1276BK is a full motion wall mount for large televisions, from 43 to 100 inches. Its two articulating arms let you pull the screen away from the wall, turn it toward the sofa and push it flat again. This page explains what the numbers mean and what to confirm about your TV and wall first.
What "full motion" means
A fixed mount holds the TV flat to the wall. A tilting mount adds some up-and-down angle. A full motion mount, also called articulating, adds swivel and extension so the screen can face a corner or the far end of a room. monTEK lists a swivel of ±60°, a tilt of +5° to -10° for cutting glare, and an arm extension of 18.9 inches (about 48 cm). Folded back, the mount sits 2.56 inches (about 6.5 cm) from the wall.
Weight limit and arm design
monTEK says the reinforced dual arms and thickened faceplate hold up to 150 lb (about 68 kg), and that the steel frame was load tested to four times that figure. Weight limits assume the TV is centred and the mount is fixed correctly into the wall. Large TVs can be heavy, so compare your set's weight, including any soundbar or bracket you add, with the mount's limit.
VESA compatibility
VESA is the standard hole pattern on the back of a TV, written in millimetres as width x height. This mount covers 200x200 to 800x600 mm. Look up your TV's pattern in its manual or on the manufacturer's page. If your pattern falls between those limits, the mount's plate should reach the holes.
Cable management and look
The mount has built-in cable management, which monTEK says hides and organizes cables. It suggests minimalist setups, entertainment centres and wall-mounted gaming stations. Cable routing helps with tidiness but doesn't replace in-wall cable kits where local rules apply to power cables.
Pre-assembled and easy to install
According to monTEK, the pre-assembly cuts installation time by up to 30%. It includes mounting hardware, a mounting template and a bubble level, and the parts are labelled. The company also says the hardware kit was reinforced after customer feedback. Large TVs are awkward to lift, so a second person is a sensible precaution for hanging the screen, even if the manual says one installer is enough.
Who it suits
This mount suits living rooms and open-plan spaces where seating is off to the side, and large screens that need a sturdy arm. If your TV sits directly in front of the seating and never moves, a simpler fixed or tilting mount may be enough.
What to check before you buy
- TV size and weight: 43-100 inches and up to 150 lb.
- VESA pattern: 200x200 to 800x600 mm.
- Wall construction: confirm studs, spacing and material. Never rely on drywall alone; follow the manual's wall guidance and use the hardware as directed.
- Clearance: check the TV can swing without hitting furniture, corners or a fireplace.
- Ports: make sure HDMI and power sockets on the TV stay reachable once it is mounted.
- In the box: hardware, template and bubble level are listed. A drill and stud finder are your own.
