The Inateck KB09119-W-US2 is a keyboard case for 11-inch iPad Air and iPad Pro tablets. It combines a protective shell, a full keyboard and a multi-touch trackpad, so a tablet can be used much like a small laptop for typing, email and study. It attaches magnetically and holds the tablet on a floating stand.
Which iPads it fits
Inateck lists compatibility with the iPad Air 11-inch (M4, M3 and M2, 2026, 2025 and 2024 models), the iPad Air 4th and 5th generation (10.9-inch) and the iPad Pro 11-inch 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation. Cases like this are cut to the exact body of one tablet, including the camera opening and the button positions, so the generation matters more than the screen size alone.
How the floating cantilever stand works
The tablet clips onto the case magnetically and appears to float above the keyboard, supported by a hinge rather than a fold-out cover. Inateck says the hinge is made of aluminum alloy and adjusts up to a 130-degree tilt angle. A wider range of angles is useful on a desk, a lap or a tray table, because a tablet that sits too upright is tiring to type at.
Because the tablet attaches magnetically, it can usually be lifted off the keyboard when you want to hold it as a tablet. The case is listed at 9.8 x 7.6 x 0.8 inches (about 25 x 19 x 2 cm) and 1.4 lb (about 0.64 kg), so it is slim for a keyboard case, though it does add noticeable weight to the tablet.
Battery and wake behaviour
The keyboard has its own rechargeable battery. Inateck says it wakes when the case is opened and sleeps when it is closed, with ultra-low-power standby. After three hours of charging, it is rated at about a month of use without the backlight and about a week with it. Real-world runtime depends on how often you type and how bright the backlight is.
Trackpad and shortcuts
The multi-touch trackpad supports gestures such as tapping, dragging and switching apps, and Inateck says its anti-mistouch technology reduces accidental cursor jumps while you type. The keyboard also supports iPadOS keyboard shortcuts and hotkeys, which help with multitasking, for example moving between apps or going back to the home screen without reaching for the screen.
Who it suits
It suits students, remote workers and travellers who already own a compatible iPad and want to write more comfortably. It is less relevant if you mostly read or draw on the tablet, since the keyboard adds bulk and covers part of the back.
What to check before you buy
- Exact model: confirm your iPad's generation and size against the compatibility list. A 10.9-inch iPad Air and an 11-inch iPad Air from 2024 or later are different sizes of tablet.
- Layout and language: the model number ends in US2, which suggests a US layout. Check the key layout if you need another one.
- Charging: check the charging connection and whether you have a suitable cable and adapter.
- Pencil and camera: if you use a stylus or want it to charge or attach, check how the case handles it.
- Weight and desk space: the stand projects behind the tablet, so look at the room you have on a desk or tray table.
