The fanxiang CFE01 is a 2TB CFexpress Type B memory card for cameras that record high-resolution stills and high-bitrate video. CFexpress cards are used where older SD or CompactFlash cards can't keep up with the data a modern camera produces, for example continuous RAW bursts or 8K recording.
What CFexpress Type B is
CFexpress is a card standard that uses the PCIe interface, the same kind of connection used by NVMe solid state drives. Type B cards share the physical size of XQD cards, and many cameras with a CFexpress Type B slot are designed around that shape. Because the interface is much faster than SD, these cards can sustain high write speeds, which matters when a camera is writing large files continuously.
Speed figures
fanxiang rates the card at up to 1700MB/s read and 1500MB/s write. Read speed affects how fast you can offload files to a computer, as long as your card reader and computer support it. Write speed matters when shooting. Maximum figures are typically best-case, and sustained speed in a camera can differ, so check what your camera needs for its video modes.
Capacity
At 2TB, it holds a very large amount of RAW stills or high-bitrate footage. fanxiang says the series ranges from 128GB to 2TB. A single large card lowers the number of card swaps during long shoots, but it also puts more material on one card, so many photographers back up files promptly.
Camera compatibility
fanxiang's compatibility statement names Canon EOS R5, R5 C, R3, C300 Mark II, C500 Mark II and 1D X Mark III, and Nikon bodies including the Z6, Z7, Z6II, Z7II and Z9. It also lists Panasonic GH6, S1 and S1R, DJI Ronin 4D, FUJIFILM X-H2S and X-H2, and Hasselblad X2D, with video modes such as 8K RAW LT for particular Canon bodies. Some of the model names in the listing, for example Nikon 5D and 6D, don't match the brand's usual naming, so confirm your exact camera in the camera maker's card list.
Reliability features
The listing mentions an integrated power management unit and technologies such as AES, SHA, ECC and CRC for data reliability and security. fanxiang gives a lifetime limited service, or 1024TBW (terabytes written), whichever comes first, plus technical support. A TBW figure is the total data the card is rated to have written over its life.
Who it suits
It suits photographers and videographers with a compatible CFexpress Type B camera who record high-resolution RAW stills or video and need large, fast storage.
