The eufy Security Indoor Cam S350 is a pan-and-tilt indoor camera that combines two lenses in one unit. A 4K wide-angle camera gives an overview of the room, and a 2K telephoto camera works with it to provide zoom. It is meant for keeping an eye on a room, a pet or a doorway from a phone.
Two cameras, one view
Most indoor cameras have one lens, so zooming in is digital: the image is cropped and loses detail. The S350 pairs a 4K wide-angle lens with a 2K telephoto lens. eufy Security calls the combination an 8x hybrid zoom, in which the camera blends optical and digital zoom across the two lenses. In general, a hybrid approach keeps zoomed-in images sharper than cropping a single sensor, though a distant subject still looks softer at the top of the zoom range.
4K resolution is about 8 megapixels, four times as many pixels as 1080p. That helps when you want to read detail on a screenshot or zoom into part of the picture.
360° pan and tilt
The camera head turns and tilts, so one unit can cover a whole room. eufy Security says this removes blind spots, and it markets the camera as a pet camera for dogs and cats. A fixed camera sees one angle; a pan-and-tilt camera can follow movement or be pointed at a different part of the room from the app.
On-device AI recordings
The S350 uses on-device AI to decide whether a human or a pet is present and records when an event of interest happens. In general, filtering on the camera itself means fewer notifications triggered by shadows or small changes in the room, and the processing doesn't have to rely on the cloud. How well detection works depends on lighting, placement and settings.
Smart-home connections
eufy Security lists support for Apple HomeKit and the Google Assistant, as well as other voice assistants. The listing refers to a HomeKit user guide for setup. If you run a particular smart-home system, check that it is on the supported list for this model before you rely on it.
Where to place it
An indoor camera works best on a stable shelf or table with a clear view of the room, and near a power outlet. Think about where people in the household will be: in general, cameras shouldn't point at private spaces, and local rules or the consent of the people you record may apply. Follow the manual on setup and the privacy settings in the app.
Who it suits
It suits households that want a movable camera for a living room, a hallway or a pet area, and people who like a zoom for details. It is less suited to someone who just wants a very small fixed camera.
What to check before you buy
- Wi-Fi: confirm the signal reaches where you'll put it.
- Power: it needs an outlet near the camera position.
- Storage: check how recordings are stored and any extra items or plans needed.
- Smart home: confirm compatibility with your assistant or hub.
- Privacy: consider who is recorded and where, and follow local rules.
- Setup: check the manual for the app, account and firmware steps.
