The eufy Security Indoor Cam C220 (model T8W11) is a compact indoor camera that can turn to follow movement. It records at 2K resolution, recognises people on the device itself and stores video on a memory card. It is meant for keeping an eye on a living room, hallway, or a pet's favourite spot.

2K resolution and night vision

2K resolution means a sharper image than standard 1080p, which helps when you zoom in to identify a detail. eufy says the 2K lens gives a highly detailed view, and the camera includes night vision for low-light rooms. Image quality still depends on lighting, distance and your Wi-Fi connection.

360° pan and tilt

The camera pans and tilts to cover a full 360° around the room, which eufy says leaves no blind spots. A single fixed camera sees only one angle, so a pan-and-tilt head is useful for open-plan spaces where you would want to look in different directions from the app.

On-device AI and tracking

Human and motion detection runs on the camera itself. eufy says it recognises human figures and records their entire route, so a person walking through the room stays in view. Processing on the device generally means fewer alerts from things like moving shadows, though sensitivity settings in the app still matter. The listing also notes compatibility with Alexa and Google Assistant.

Privacy mode

A single press turns the camera to face away to a preset position. This is useful when you're home and don't want the lens pointing at the room. Check the app for how the mode is switched on and off.

Local storage

Instead of relying on cloud recording, the C220 takes a microSD card of up to 128 GB for direct storage, according to eufy. The listing says there is no monthly fee for notifications or recording. It adds that the camera is compatible with Homebase 3 for the storage function only, and that this needs the latest eufy Security app and specific camera and Homebase 3 firmware versions, which the listing gives.

Size

The camera measures 2.9 x 2.8 x 4.3 inches (about 7.4 x 7.1 x 10.9 cm) and weighs 0.4 lb (about 180 g), so it fits easily on a shelf.

What to check before you buy

  • Wi-Fi coverage: make sure signal reaches where you'll put it.
  • Placement and power: check the manual for how it is powered and mounted.
  • Memory card: the camera does not list a card in the features; confirm what's included and that your card is up to 128 GB.
  • Privacy: think about where recording is appropriate, and follow local rules, particularly about recording other people.
  • Smart home: confirm your voice assistant works with the camera.
  • Homebase 3: if you plan to use it, check the firmware requirements above.
