The eufyCam S4 kit pairs four solar-powered, wire-free security cameras with a HomeBase S380 hub. Each camera combines two views in one housing, a wide scene and a tracking close-up, and footage is stored locally on the hub. It is designed for properties where running cable is difficult, such as sheds, yards and larger lots.
Two views from one camera
eufy describes a triple-lens system. An upper 4K bullet lens gives a 130° wide view of the scene, while a lower 2K PTZ lens (pan, tilt, zoom) can lock onto a subject, track it and zoom in. The advantage in practice is that you get the overall context and a detailed close-up at the same time, instead of choosing between a wide angle and a narrow one.
AI tracking across cameras
Each camera uses AI to frame multiple subjects and zoom in on detail up to 164 ft (50 m) away, according to eufy. When linked through the HomeBase S380, cameras can hand a subject off to one another, which eufy calls Cross-Camera Tracking. It stitches movement across zones into one timestamped video, which can be easier than hunting through four separate clips.
Solar power
Each camera has a 5.5W solar panel and eufy's SolarPlus 2.0 technology, and eufy says about one hour of direct sunlight a day keeps it running year-round. That depends on your location and mounting position. A camera in shade, or in a place with a long dark winter, may not get that much sun, so panel placement matters. The cameras are wire-free and detachable, so mounting is quick.
Local storage and the HomeBase S380
Footage is stored on the HomeBase S380's built-in 16GB drive, which can be expanded with any 2.5-inch drive, and eufy describes the system as working without a monthly fee for storage. The hub joins all four cameras in one app and runs local BionicMind AI, which eufy says learns familiar faces to reduce false alerts. The system can grow from four cameras to as many as 16 devices.
Detection and deterrence
Radar and PIR sensors are combined to provide motion alerts with fewer false alarms. Within a zone or schedule you set, red and blue warning lights and a 105 dB siren can activate. The kit is listed at about 32 x 10 x 8.3 inches in its package and 17.9 lb.
Who it suits
It suits owners of larger properties, outbuildings and rentals who want several wire-free cameras and local storage rather than cloud storage.
What to check before you buy
- Sun exposure: confirm each camera position gets regular direct light.
- Wi-Fi coverage: check signal strength where the hub and cameras will sit.
- Hub placement: the HomeBase S380 needs power and a network connection.
- Storage: decide whether the 16GB built-in drive is enough or you want to add a drive.
- Privacy and local rules: check regulations on recording near neighbours or public spaces.
- Mounting: plan secure, high mounting spots and check the included hardware.
