The Blackview Tab 9 WiFi is an 11-inch tablet running Android 14 with 256GB of storage, an 8200mAh battery and a metal body. It is a WiFi-only model for browsing, reading, video and light work. Here is what its specifications mean.
Software and what it runs
The tablet runs Android 14 with Blackview's own DOKE OS_P 4.0 interface. Blackview says it adds privacy features such as improved anti-tracking, a screenshot editing tool and apps for file sharing and real-time subtitles. The tablet is GMS certified, meaning it includes Google Mobile Services, so the usual Google apps and Google's app marketplace are available. It also has a PC Mode, which gives a more desktop-like window layout.
Processor, memory and storage
The octa-core processor is listed as a T606. Blackview describes the memory as 18GB, made up of 6GB of physical RAM plus 12GB of virtual RAM. Virtual RAM uses part of the storage as extra working memory. It can help with keeping apps open, but it is not as fast as physical RAM, so the 6GB figure is the one to bear in mind for demanding apps.
Storage is 256GB, and a TF (microSD) card can expand it up to 2TB, which is useful for downloaded video, music and files. This class of processor typically suits browsing, streaming, reading and casual games more than heavy 3D gaming.
Display and sound
The 11-inch screen is described as 2.4K, which is sharper than Full HD at this size, with dual speakers. The tablet supports Widevine L1, the highest level of the DRM that streaming apps commonly use. In practice, it allows HD streaming from services that require L1. Blackview lists support for 1080p.
Battery and charging
The battery is 8200mAh. Blackview's own test figures are:
- Standby of more than 500 hours.
- Web browsing up to 12 hours.
- Video playback up to 10 hours.
- Games up to 8 hours.
Charging is 10W USB-PD, and Blackview says a full charge takes about 3 hours. Real battery life varies with brightness and use.
Connectivity, cameras and build
WiFi is 5G (5 GHz) with Bluetooth 5.0. The tablet has 13MP and 8MP cameras and Face ID unlock. It has an all-metal body that is 9.5 mm thick and weighs 540 grams. The listing gives dimensions of about 10.5 x 7.2 x 0.3 inches. Blackview offers a 720-day warranty.
Who it suits
It suits families, students and travellers who want a large screen for streaming, reading and video calls, and people who want to add storage with a memory card. It has no cellular connection, so you need WiFi or a phone hotspot.
What to check before you buy
