This Blackview tablet has a 12-inch 90Hz screen, runs Android 15 and is powered by the Allwinner A733 eight-core chip. Its headline feature is air gestures: Blackview says you can swipe in front of the screen to turn pages, take screenshots and change volume without touching it. A pen and case are part of the package.
Display
The 12-inch IPS panel has a 1200 x 2000 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. A higher refresh rate than the common 60Hz makes scrolling and animations look smoother. IPS panels typically keep colour and brightness consistent from wide viewing angles, which helps when sharing the screen. Widevine L1 is listed, which is generally what allows HD streaming in video apps.
The A733 processor
Blackview lists two Cortex-A76 cores at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz, built on a 12nm process, with an Arm Mali G57 graphics unit at 850MHz. This is a mid-range design suited to browsing, video, notes and casual games. The big cores handle bursts of work while the small ones save power for lighter tasks.
AI features
The chip supports gesture recognition, smile recognition for hands-free photos, and a sitting-posture reminder. Blackview also lists an AI photo editor with tools such as Magic Erase, sky replacement and portrait unblur. How well these features work will depend on lighting and software updates.
Memory and storage
Blackview gives 36GB of RAM, made up of 12GB physical and 24GB virtual. Virtual RAM uses storage space to help keep more apps ready, but it isn't as fast as physical memory. Storage is 256GB, expandable up to 2TB.
Battery and connectivity
A 9000mAh battery is rated for 12 hours of video, 8 hours of gaming, 15 hours of mixed use and 912 hours of standby, according to Blackview. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 are included, and the listing mentions GPS. Cameras are 8MP at the front and 16MP at the back.
Build
The tablet has an all-metal body 8.0mm thick, weighing 615g (about 1.4 lb). Blackview lists a 720-day warranty.
Who it suits
It suits people who want a big, smooth screen for video, reading, drawing and notes, with a pen and case included. It is less suited to demanding 3D games or professional editing.
What to check before you buy
- Gestures: try air gestures to see whether you find them useful; most people still rely on touch.
- RAM: note that 24GB of the 36GB is virtual.
- Pen and case: check what is included and how the pen charges or powers.
- Size and weight: 12 inches and 615g is a lot to hold one-handed.
