The ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED (UX5304VA-XS76T) is a thin, light 13.3-inch laptop built around an OLED display. ASUS describes it as 0.46 inches thick and 2.2 lb, which puts it among the lighter laptops you can carry daily. This page explains what its main specifications mean.
The OLED display
The screen is a 13.3-inch, 16:10, 2.8K OLED HDR panel. Unlike an LCD, an OLED panel lights each pixel itself, so black pixels can switch off completely. ASUS lists a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, which reflects that. ASUS calls the panel "Lumina OLED", a name it gives to displays that meet its quality criteria, and says it reduces eye strain. The 16:10 shape gives extra vertical space for documents and web pages.
Performance and the Evo label
The laptop uses a 13th-generation Intel Core i7-1355U processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics, together with 32GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. That is a lot of memory for an ultraportable and suits heavy multitasking. Intel Evo certification is a set of Intel requirements for responsiveness, instant wake, battery life and fast connectivity in thin laptops. The listing also gives WiFi 6E, which adds access to the 6GHz band on compatible routers.
Ports and charging
The two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports support fast charging, 4K external displays and data transfers up to 40 Gbps. The power adapter is a 65W USB Type-C charger. ASUS says fast charging reaches 70% capacity in as little as 49 minutes. Battery life is described as long-lasting, though runtime depends on brightness and workload.
Build and design
The Basalt Grey model uses a plasma ceramic coating on an aluminium-alloy chassis. ASUS says it adds hardness, wear resistance and corrosion protection. The listing also states that the laptop meets military-standard durability tests, which is a brand claim about resilience rather than a guarantee against damage. It is listed as an EPEAT Gold registered product. A laptop sleeve is included.
Sound, camera and input
The sound system is Dolby Atmos and Harman Kardon certified. There is an ASUS ErgoSense touchpad and a 180° ErgoLift hinge, which makes it easy to lay the screen flat for sharing. A full HD infrared camera supports hands-free face login, and AI noise suppression aims to improve conference calls.
Included software
ASUS lists a complimentary three-month Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, and the laptop runs Windows 11 Pro. Check the ASUS website for the terms of the subscription.
Who it suits
It suits frequent travellers, students and professionals who value a light, thin machine with a high-quality screen and plenty of memory for work. It isn't intended as a gaming machine, since it uses integrated graphics.
What to check before you buy
- Port selection: the description highlights two Thunderbolt 4 ports, so check whether you need adapters for USB-A or HDMI.
- Graphics needs: Iris Xe is integrated, so demanding games and heavy 3D work are not its purpose.
- Screen type: OLED screens are glossy and vivid. Some people prefer a matte finish.
- Charger: it charges through USB-C at 65W, so check compatibility with chargers you own.
- Subscription terms: read the details of the Adobe offer.
