The ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED is a thin, light 13.3-inch laptop built for people who carry their computer everywhere: students, commuters and frequent travellers. It pairs an OLED touchscreen with an Intel Core Ultra processor in a body that ASUS lists at 2.2 lb (about 1 kg) and 0.46 inches (about 12 mm) thick. Here is what its main specs mean in practice.

A 3K OLED screen in a small body

The display is 13.3 inches with a 16:10 shape and a 2880 x 1800 resolution. The taller 16:10 ratio gives more vertical room than a 16:9 screen, which helps with documents, web pages and spreadsheets. ASUS rates the panel at 100% DCI-P3 colour coverage, validated by Pantone, with 400 nits of peak HDR brightness and a 60Hz refresh rate.

OLED panels light each pixel individually, so black areas are typically very dark and contrast is high. The 60Hz refresh rate is the standard for office and video use; it's not aimed at fast gaming. The screen is also touch-enabled.

Processor, memory and storage

This model uses the Intel Core Ultra 7 155U, which ASUS lists with 12 cores, 14 threads and boost speeds up to 4.8 GHz. The "U" series is designed for thin laptops, so it generally favours low power draw over peak performance. Intel positions the Core Ultra family as AI-ready, with hardware aimed at on-device AI features.

It has 32GB of LPDDR5x memory, which is generous for a laptop this size and leaves room for many browser tabs and several apps at once. Memory in thin laptops of this type is typically soldered to the board, so it can't be upgraded later. The 1TB SSD covers a large library of files, photos and projects. It ships with Windows 11 Pro and a dedicated Copilot key.

Ports, sound and camera

Connections are 2 x Thunderbolt 4 (supporting display output and power delivery), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, 1 x HDMI 2.1 and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. Charging happens through Thunderbolt 4, and ASUS mentions fast charging. There's no card reader listed, so photographers may need an adapter.

Audio comes from Harman Kardon-tuned speakers with Dolby Atmos support. A Full HD infrared camera is built in, along with a backlit keyboard and a precision touchpad.

Battery and build

The 63Wh battery is rated by ASUS at 13+ hours; real-world runtime depends on screen brightness, workload and settings. The chassis meets the US MIL-STD 810H standard, according to the brand, which describes a set of durability tests rather than a guarantee against damage. ASUS also says the laptop uses up to 90% recycled materials and holds EPEAT Gold with Climate+ certification.

Who it suits

It suits people who value a light bag and a sharp screen: students, writers, office workers and travellers. It isn't aimed at heavy gaming or demanding 3D work, since it has integrated Intel graphics rather than a separate graphics card.

What to check before you buy

  • Ports: confirm that two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A and one HDMI cover your accessories, and whether you need an adapter for SD cards or wired networking.
  • Charger and cables: check what is included in the box, and that your dock or monitor works over Thunderbolt 4.
  • Memory is fixed: with soldered memory, the specification you pick is the one you keep.
  • Screen: OLED gloss and a touch panel suit some rooms and habits better than others; consider your lighting.
  • Software: it runs Windows 11 Pro; check that your work software supports it.
  • Warranty and support: read the terms for your region.
