The ASUS Zenbook A14 (UX3407QA) is a 14-inch ultraportable laptop powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor. It is a Copilot+ PC, with a WUXGA OLED display, a Ceraluminum body and a weight of just 980 g. Here is what its main specs mean for everyday use.

Snapdragon X and Copilot+

The laptop uses a Snapdragon X series processor, an Arm-based chip rather than the x86 designs from Intel and AMD. ASUS says its NPU (neural processing unit) delivers up to 45 TOPS of AI performance. TOPS means trillions of operations per second, and a Copilot+ PC is a Windows laptop that meets Microsoft's requirements for on-device AI features. ASUS lists uses such as productivity assistance, text and image creation and faster photo and video editing.

Because the chip is Arm-based, Windows runs some older apps through a compatibility layer. Most mainstream software works, but specialist tools or drivers can differ, so it is worth checking the programs you rely on.

Memory, storage and wireless

The listing gives 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB SSD. LPDDR5X is low-power, fast memory that is usually soldered to the board in thin laptops, so it typically cannot be upgraded later. Wireless is Wi-Fi 6E, which adds the 6GHz band for less congestion if your router supports it.

The OLED display

The screen is a 14-inch WUXGA OLED (1920 x 1200). OLED panels typically offer deep blacks, strong contrast and vivid colour. The 16:10 shape gives a little extra vertical room for documents and web pages compared with 16:9.

Ceraluminum body

The lid, keyboard frame and base use Ceraluminum, which ASUS describes as a fusion of ceramic and aluminium. ASUS says it is 30% lighter and 3x stronger than anodised aluminium, and that it resists scratches and smudges. The design uses tone-on-tone colours, and this model comes in Zabriskie Beige.

Weight and battery

ASUS says the laptop weighs 980 g (about 2.2 lb), and describes it as the lightest 14-inch Copilot+ laptop based on its own internal market analysis as of 31 December 2024. The listing quotes up to 32 hours of offline video playback from the 70Wh battery. ASUS notes that actual battery life varies with configuration, use and power settings, and that it declines over the battery's lifetime. Expect less in mixed daily use. The laptop measures about 12.6 x 8.8 inches and is 1.0 inch thick as listed.

Who it suits

It suits students, commuters and frequent travellers who want a light laptop with long battery life for documents, browsing, video calls and light creative work. It is less targeted at heavy gaming or software that needs a dedicated graphics card.

What to check before you buy

  • Software compatibility: confirm your key apps run on Windows on Arm.
  • Memory and storage: both are fixed at 16GB and 512GB in this configuration, so check they are enough.
  • Ports: the listing does not itemise them, so check they suit your accessories.
  • Charger: confirm what comes in the box.
  • Battery claims: the 32-hour figure is a test of video playback, not typical use.
  • Model code: the listing shows slightly different suffixes, so confirm the exact configuration.
