The ASUS VivoBook S 15 OLED (model K3502ZA-DS74) is a slim 15.6-inch laptop built around an OLED display and a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor. ASUS positions it for entertainment and casual creative work, in a thin aluminum body that stays under 4 lb.

The OLED display

The screen is 15.6 inches at Full HD (1920 x 1080). ASUS lists a 0.2ms response time, 600 nits peak brightness, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, plus VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification. OLED pixels produce their own light, so black pixels can switch off entirely, which is why OLED panels typically show deep blacks and high contrast. DCI-P3 is a wide gamut used in film, so 100% coverage suggests rich colour for photo and video work. Peak brightness is usually reached in small bright areas rather than across the whole screen.

The NanoEdge bezels are thin on all four sides, and ASUS gives an 84% screen-to-body ratio.

Processor and graphics

The Intel Core i7-12700H has 14 cores (6 performance and 8 efficient), runs at 2.3 GHz and boosts up to 4.7 GHz according to the listing. It is an H-series chip, designed for higher performance than the thin-and-light U-series. Graphics come from Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics, which handles everyday visuals, video editing and light creative work, but is not intended for demanding modern games.

Memory and storage

The laptop has 16GB of DDR4 in total: 8GB soldered on board plus an 8GB SO-DIMM module. Because one module is a standard SO-DIMM, memory is typically partly upgradeable, though you should check the manual before opening the laptop. Storage is a 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD on PCIe 4.0, which gives quick start-up and file transfers. It runs Windows 11 Home.

Intel Evo and battery

The laptop is part of the Intel Evo platform, a set of requirements Intel uses around responsiveness, battery life and fast charging. Real battery life varies with screen brightness and workload, and OLED screens use more power when showing bright content.

Design, keyboard and security

The body is aluminum, listed at 3.97 lb and 0.75 inches thick. The backlit chiclet keyboard includes a fingerprint sensor that works with Windows Hello for sign-in. ASUS also lists AI Noise-Canceling, which uses machine learning to separate speech from background noise on calls.

Ports

Two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports are listed. Thunderbolt 4 supports fast data transfer, external displays and charging through one cable. Check the manual for the full list of other ports.

Who it suits

It suits students, remote workers and creators who want a colourful display and solid processing power in a portable laptop, without needing a dedicated graphics card.

What to check before you buy

  • Graphics needs: integrated Iris Xe graphics is not meant for heavy gaming or 3D work.
  • Storage: 512GB can fill quickly with video and photo libraries; plan for external storage.
  • Display use: OLED is great for media; consider how you will use static content for long periods.
  • Ports and adapters: confirm you have the connections your accessories need.
  • Charging: check which charger comes in the box and whether USB-C charging works for you.
  • Software offers: the listing mentions a short Adobe Creative Cloud trial; check the current terms on the ASUS website.
