The ASUS Vivobook Go 15 (model E1504FA-AB34) is a light, everyday laptop with a 15.6-inch Full HD screen and a full-sized keyboard. It is aimed at browsing, documents, video calls and streaming rather than heavy creative or gaming work. Here is what its specifications mean in practice.
The processor and memory
The laptop uses an AMD Ryzen 3 7320U with four cores and eight threads. ASUS describes it as an efficient chip for multitasking, browsing and light gaming. The "U" in the name typically marks a low-power processor designed for thin laptops, trading peak speed for lower heat and longer battery life.
It has 8GB of DDR5 memory. For web browsing with a handful of tabs, office software and video playback, 8GB is typically enough, though it leaves less headroom for large spreadsheets or many apps open at once. Graphics are handled by integrated AMD Radeon graphics, which share the main memory and suit everyday video and casual games rather than demanding titles.
Storage: what 256GB covers
The 256GB SSD makes startup and file opening quick compared with a traditional hard drive. ASUS calls it essential storage, which is a fair description: Windows 11 Home and a set of applications take a good share of the space, leaving room for documents, photos and a modest library of files. People who keep large media collections or games usually rely on cloud storage or an external drive alongside it.
The display
The 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) panel has a rated sustained brightness of 250 nits and a 45% NTSC colour gamut. In plain terms, that is a screen suited to indoor use, text and video, and not one aimed at colour-critical photo or video editing. A brightness of 250 nits is typically comfortable in a normal room but can look dim in direct sunlight.
Battery, charging and build
ASUS quotes up to 11 hours of battery life from the 42Wh battery, and notes that real-world results vary with configuration, usage and power settings, and that battery life declines over the battery's lifetime. The listing also mentions fast charging, which shortens the time spent plugged in.
The laptop weighs 5.5 lb (about 2.5 kg) and is around 0.7 inches (roughly 1.8 cm) thick. ASUS says it passed five test procedures from the US MIL-STD 810H standard: high temperature, low temperature, shock, vibration and altitude. Those are the brand's tests, and they are not the same as being waterproof or drop-proof.
Keyboard, camera and connectivity
The chiclet-style keyboard includes a numeric keypad, which helps with spreadsheets and accounting. The 720p HD camera has a slide-over privacy shutter, so the lens can be covered when it is not in use. ASUS lists WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 for wireless connections, and Sonic Master audio for the speakers. The 180-degree lay-flat hinge lets the screen open fully flat, which can be handy for sharing the display across a table.
Who it suits
This laptop suits students, home users and anyone who wants a light general-purpose machine for web, email, documents and video. It is less suited to video editing, 3D work or modern games at high settings.
What to check before you buy
- Storage needs: confirm that 256GB is enough for your files, or plan for cloud or external storage.
- Memory: 8GB covers everyday tasks; heavy multitasking may call for more.
- Screen: 250 nits and a 45% NTSC gamut suit general use but not colour-accurate work.
- Ports and adapters: check the port list for the devices you plan to connect.
- Wi-Fi: WiFi 5 works with most home networks but is not the latest standard.
- Battery: treat the 11-hour figure as a best case that depends on how you use it.
