The ASUS Vivobook 16 (model M1607KA-DS76) is a 16-inch everyday laptop built around the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor, with 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD. It is a Copilot+ PC, a Microsoft category for laptops with a fast built-in AI processor. This page explains what the specifications mean and what to check.
The processor and the NPU
The Ryzen AI 7 350 has eight cores and 16 threads, according to the listing. It also includes an NPU, a neural processing unit, which AMD calls XDNA and ASUS rates at up to 50 TOPS (trillions of operations per second). An NPU handles certain AI tasks, such as background blur on video calls or live captions, more efficiently than the main processor, which typically saves battery. For ordinary tasks like browsing, documents and video calls, the eight cores give plenty of headroom.
What Copilot+ means
Microsoft requires Copilot+ PCs to have an NPU above a set performance level. ASUS lists several features that depend on it: Recall, which helps you search for things you've seen on the PC; Live Captions with translation; and image generation from text prompts. Availability of these features can vary by region and Windows version, and some are optional, so check Microsoft's current documentation.
Screen: 16 inches in 16:10
The display is a 16-inch WUXGA panel at 1920 x 1200 resolution. The 16:10 shape is a little taller than a standard widescreen, which gives more room for documents and web pages. ASUS lists 300 nits of sustained brightness and a 60Hz refresh rate. 300 nits is comfortable for indoor use, though bright rooms and sunlight may call for more. 60Hz is the standard rate for general work and video.
Memory, storage and graphics
The laptop has 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, which ASUS says uses PCIe 4.0. That much memory typically handles many browser tabs and several apps at once, and 1TB leaves space for large photo and video libraries. Graphics are the integrated AMD Radeon type, which is shared with the processor. This suits light gaming, photo editing and 4K video streaming, but it isn't a dedicated gaming graphics card.
Connectivity, battery and charging
ASUS lists WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. It gives battery life as up to 8 hours and says FastCharge brings the battery to full in 1 hour and 20 minutes. Battery results always vary with screen brightness and workload, so treat the figure as a guide. Check the full port list on ASUS's specification page if you need particular connections.
Keyboard, camera and sound
The keyboard is backlit and includes a numeric keypad, useful for spreadsheets. The 1080p infrared camera supports Windows Hello face sign-in and Windows Studio Effects, and a sliding shutter covers the lens. Speakers are tuned by SonicMaster, ASUS's audio tuning.
Size and weight
The listing gives 14.1 x 9.9 inches, 0.7 inches thick, and 4.14 lb (about 1.9 kg) in the description. The dimensions entry lists a weight of 0.0 lb, which looks like a data gap, so rely on the 4.14 lb figure. For a 16-inch machine that is a moderate weight to carry daily.
Who it suits
It suits students, home workers and families who want a large screen, plenty of storage and the newer AI features without moving to a workstation-class machine.
What to check before you buy

- Ports: confirm the ports match your monitor, drives and accessories.
- AI features: check which Copilot+ features are available in your region.
- Brightness: consider where you'll use it, since 300 nits is moderate.
- Software: check what comes preinstalled and any trial offers.
