ASUS Vivobook 16 Flip: OLED 2-in-1 Copilot+ laptop specs and who it suits

A 16-inch 2-in-1 laptop with a 3K 120Hz OLED touchscreen, Intel Core Ultra 7 256V, 16GB memory and a 360° hinge. What the Vivobook 16 Flip specs mean.

The ASUS Vivobook 16 Flip (TP3607SA-DS74T) is a 16-inch 2-in-1 laptop with an OLED touchscreen and a hinge that folds back through 360°. It is built on Intel's Core Ultra 7 256V processor and is marketed as a Copilot+ PC for work, study and creative use. Here is what the main features mean.

A 16-inch OLED touchscreen

The display is a 16-inch glossy OLED panel with 2880 x 1800 resolution in a 16:10 shape, which gives a little more vertical space than a 16:9 screen for documents and web pages. ASUS lists a 120Hz refresh rate and a 500-nit peak HDR brightness. OLED panels typically show deep blacks and strong contrast because each pixel makes its own light. A glossy finish makes colours look vivid, though it can reflect lights and windows.

Because it is a touchscreen, you can tap and scroll with a finger. ASUS says it supports the ASUS Pen 2.0, which is sold separately.

The 360° hinge

The hinge lets the screen fold flat or turn into tent and tablet positions. Laptop mode suits typing, tent mode suits watching video on a table, and tablet mode suits notes, drawing and reading. A 3.9 lb weight makes this a fairly substantial tablet, so the flip is more about flexibility than one-handed use.

Processor, AI and graphics

The Intel Core Ultra 7 256V has 8 cores and 8 threads, and includes an Intel AI Boost NPU rated up to 47 TOPS. An NPU is a chip dedicated to AI tasks, so features such as background blur, live captions and local AI tools can run without taxing the main processor. That 40+ TOPS level is what Microsoft expects of Copilot+ PCs, which add features such as Recall and Live Captions.

Intel Arc graphics are built into the processor, with up to eight Xe-cores. ASUS says this brings XeSS upscaling and an XMX AI engine for lighter games and creative apps. Integrated graphics of this type typically handle photo editing, video playback and casual or older games, but do not replace a separate gaming graphics card.

Memory, storage and battery

The laptop has 16GB of memory and a 512GB SSD, which is a reasonable base for multitasking and everyday files. Check the manual on whether either can be expanded.

ASUS quotes up to 22 hours of battery life from a 75Wh battery. Brand battery figures typically come from light, controlled use; video, heavy tasks and a bright screen will shorten it.

Camera, sound and security

The 1080p IR webcam has a privacy shutter and supports Windows Hello face login, background blur, automatic framing and eye-tracking. ASUS also lists Microsoft Pluton security and ASUS Adaptive Lock. The speakers support Dolby Atmos, with Smart Amplifier and ASUS Audio Booster tuning. The backlit keyboard and enlarged touchpad with gesture controls complete the package.

Who it suits

It suits students and professionals who want a large, bright screen for documents, video and light creative work, and who value drawing or tablet-style use. It is less suited to heavy 3D gaming or high-end video rendering, where a dedicated graphics card helps.

What to check before you buy

  • Pen use: the ASUS Pen 2.0 is sold separately, so check it is what you need.
  • Glossy screen: think about the lighting where you will work.
  • Weight and size: a 16-inch machine at 3.9 lb is a lot to hold in tablet mode.
  • Ports: the listing doesn't list them, so check the full specification against your devices.
  • AI features: features such as Recall have their own settings and availability; read Microsoft's documentation.
  • Upgrades: check whether memory and storage can be changed.
