The ASUS ROG Herculx (model XH01) is a graphics card holder: a small bracket that sits under a large graphics card and supports its weight. Modern cards are long, heavy and held at only one end by the slot and the rear bracket, so over time they can sag. A support like this is meant to keep the card level and take strain off the slot.
Why graphics cards sag
A high-end graphics card combines a circuit board, a metal heatsink and often several fans, and many weigh well over a kilogram. The PCIe slot and the rear bracket carry that load at one end, while the far end hangs unsupported. In a case that stands upright, gravity gradually pulls the free end down. A holder adds a second support point under the card, which typically keeps it horizontal and reduces stress on the slot.
How the bracket is built
ASUS describes the Herculx as having a solid zinc alloy construction, which gives it the weight and rigidity to bear a heavy card. The listing gives its dimensions as 8.2 x 2.8 x 0.1 inches (about 21 x 7 x 0.3 cm) and its weight as 1.1 lb (about 0.5 kg).
The stand design is meant to suit a variety of chassis, and ASUS says it doesn't occupy any PCIe slots. That matters in a busy build where the slots below the graphics card are needed for other cards.
Adjustable height and toolless setup
The holder offers a support height of 72 to 128 mm (roughly 2.8 to 5 inches). That range lets it reach different distances between the case floor, or the power supply shroud, and the underside of the card.
An adjustable wheel sets the height, and a release button lets you remove it again. ASUS calls the process toolless, so no screwdriver should be needed to fit it. An included spirit level helps you confirm the card is sitting level when you adjust the height. The aim is to hold the card level, not to push it upwards, so use light adjustments and follow the manual.
Aura Sync lighting
The holder has an embedded 3D ARGB element that ASUS says is compatible with Aura Sync. ARGB means addressable RGB, where each LED can show its own colour, so effects can move across the strip. Aura Sync is ASUS's system for coordinating lighting across compatible components from one piece of software. If your build doesn't use Aura-compatible parts, check how the lighting connects and is controlled before relying on it.
Who it suits
It suits builders with a long, heavy graphics card in an upright case, and anyone moving a finished PC who wants extra support for the card. It also suits people who like matching lighting across their parts. A card that is small and light may not need one at all.
What to check before you buy
- Height: measure from the surface the holder will stand on to the underside of your card. It should fall within 72-128 mm.
- Floor space: confirm there is a clear spot under the card, free of cables, drive cages or a power supply shroud with an awkward shape.
- Case layout: check that your chassis leaves room for the stand, as the listing says it suits a variety of cases but not every layout.
- Lighting: if you want the ARGB element to work, check how it connects to your motherboard or controller and whether your software supports it.
- Orientation: a holder is aimed at cases where the card is mounted horizontally in a standard upright tower. A vertically mounted card is a different situation.
- Card clearance: make sure the support touches only a sturdy part of the card, such as the shroud, and not a fan or cable.
The short version
- A graphics card support bracket, model XH01, in solid zinc alloy.
- Adjustable support height of 72-128 mm, with a wheel and release button for toolless setup.
- Included spirit level helps you set the card level.
- Embedded 3D ARGB lighting compatible with Aura Sync.
- Doesn't use up a PCIe slot; check your case layout and card height first.
