The ASUS Prime GeForce RTX 5070 Ti OC Edition is a graphics card built on NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture, with 16GB of GDDR7 memory. ASUS calls it "SFF-Ready", meaning its 2.5-slot design is meant to fit smaller cases where bigger cards will not. It is a part for gaming and graphics-heavy PCs, installed in a motherboard's main PCIe slot.
Blackwell, DLSS 4 and 16GB of GDDR7
Blackwell is NVIDIA's GPU architecture for the GeForce RTX 50 series, and ASUS lists DLSS 4 support. DLSS is NVIDIA's technology that uses AI to upscale and generate frames, which can raise frame rates in supported games. The card has 16GB of GDDR7 memory, which in general helps with high-resolution textures and demanding scenes. It connects over PCIe 5.0 and offers HDMI and DisplayPort 2.1 outputs for modern monitors. "OC Edition" means it ships with factory-tuned clock speeds above the reference design.
A 2.5-slot design for smaller builds
Many high-end cards occupy three or more slots. This one is 2.5 slots thick and about 12 x 5 x 2 inches (roughly 30 x 13 x 5 cm), weighing 2.6 lb (about 1.2 kg). ASUS says that layout, including the shroud, heatsink and heat-pipe arrangement, lets its three fans use airflow from a case's side-panel ventilation. Small-form-factor cases vary widely, so the physical measurements matter more than the "SFF-Ready" label.
How the cooling works
ASUS lists several cooling features:
- Axial-tech fans: a smaller hub allows longer blades, and a barrier ring is meant to increase downward air pressure.
- Phase-change thermal pad: a pad on the GPU that ASUS says improves heat transfer and so lowers temperatures. Phase-change materials soften at operating temperature to fill tiny gaps.
- Dual-ball bearings: ASUS says they last up to twice as long as standard sleeve bearings.
- 0dB technology: the fans stop at low loads, so light gaming or desktop use can be close to silent.
Dual BIOS and GPU Tweak III
A switch on the card toggles between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles. Quiet typically favours lower fan noise, Performance favours cooling and clocks. ASUS's GPU Tweak III software handles performance tweaking, thermal control and system monitoring, so you can adjust fan curves or watch temperatures without leaving Windows. The listing also mentions ASUS's Auto-Extreme manufacturing process, which it describes as aimed at precision and reliability.
Who it suits
It suits people building a compact gaming or creator PC who still want a modern GPU with a generous memory allowance. It also suits anyone who likes a quiet system at idle, thanks to the fan-stop mode. It is less necessary if you only need basic display output.
What to check before you buy
- Case clearance: measure the length, height and width available, including the 2.5-slot thickness.
- Power supply: check NVIDIA's and ASUS's recommended power supply wattage and the connector type the card needs, then confirm your supply provides it.
- Motherboard slot: it uses PCIe 5.0, and is normally backward compatible with older slots, though that should be confirmed.
- Monitor ports: check that your display has HDMI or DisplayPort inputs that suit the card's outputs.
- Airflow: a case with good ventilation helps any card, particularly in compact builds.
- Software: check driver and GPU Tweak III requirements for your operating system.
The short version
- A GeForce RTX 5070 Ti OC Edition with 16GB GDDR7 on NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture, with DLSS 4.
- A 2.5-slot design for smaller cases, measuring about 12 inches long.
- Three Axial-tech fans, phase-change thermal pad, dual-ball bearings and 0dB mode.
- Dual BIOS switch for Quiet and Performance profiles.
- PCIe 5.0 interface with HDMI and DisplayPort 2.1 outputs.
