The ASUS Dual Radeon RX 7600 EVO OC Edition (model DUAL-RX7600-O8G-EVO) is a desktop graphics card with AMD's Radeon RX 7600 GPU and 8GB of GDDR6 memory. It is a compact dual-fan design with a factory overclock mode, meant for gaming at common resolutions in a standard desktop case.
What OC mode means
ASUS lists an OC mode with a boost clock of up to 2715 MHz and a game clock of up to 2300 MHz. The boost clock is the highest speed the GPU can reach briefly, and the game clock is the typical speed during gaming. Clock speed is not the only factor in performance, and real results depend on the game, settings and cooling. Cards can usually be run in a default mode or the OC mode through ASUS software.
8GB of GDDR6 memory
Video memory stores textures and frame data. 8GB is a common amount for gaming at 1080p, and it is typically enough for many games at that resolution. Newer games at high texture settings or higher resolutions can use more, so it is worth matching the memory to the way you play.
Cooling: Axial-tech fans and a 2.5-slot design
ASUS equips the card with Axial-tech fans designed to improve airflow, and with dual ball bearings, which the brand says last twice as long as conventional fans. The 2.5-slot design leaves more room for heatsink area than a two-slot card, which generally helps cooling and quiet running, but it takes up more space in the case.
0dB technology
When the load is light, such as a desktop, browsing or video playback, the fans can stop completely. ASUS says this gives almost silent running in less demanding games. The fans start up again when the card warms up.
Dimensions and interface
The card measures about 9.0 x 4.8 inches (about 23 x 12 cm) and weighs 1.5 lb (about 0.7 kg). It connects over PCIe 4.0, which also works in other PCIe x16 slots, with possible differences in bandwidth. Outputs are one HDMI 2.1 port and three DisplayPort 1.4a ports.
Who it suits
It suits 1080p gamers and upgraders with a compact or mid-sized tower, who would like a quiet card at idle. People planning high-resolution, high-detail play should weigh the 8GB of memory.
What to check before you buy
- Case space: the 2.5-slot cooler is thicker than many cards. Check the clearance next to other expansion cards.
- Power supply: check ASUS's recommended supply wattage and the power connectors the card needs.
- Slot: you need a free PCIe x16 slot.
- Monitor connections: compare your monitors with one HDMI and three DisplayPort outputs.
- Software: download current AMD drivers and read the manual before installing.
The short version
- A desktop graphics card with AMD Radeon RX 7600 and 8GB GDDR6.
- OC mode up to 2715 MHz boost and 2300 MHz game clock.
- Axial-tech dual ball-bearing fans, a 2.5-slot design and 0dB mode.
- PCIe 4.0; one HDMI 2.1 and three DisplayPort 1.4a outputs.
- Check case clearance and power supply compatibility first.
