The ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 5050 (DUAL-RTX5050-8G) is a graphics card built on NVIDIA's Blackwell architecture, with 8GB of GDDR6 memory and a two-slot, two-fan cooler. It's designed to give a compact PC extra graphics power and the newer DLSS 4 feature set.
Blackwell, DLSS 4 and AI performance
Blackwell is NVIDIA's current graphics generation, and DLSS 4 is its AI-based technique for raising frame rates and image quality, which works only in games that support it. ASUS lists 433 AI TOPS, a measure of the card's AI processing throughput. TOPS figures are a brand-level indicator, and they don't translate directly into game frame rates.
Clock speeds are 2602MHz in OC mode and 2572MHz in default mode. The boost clock is the speed the card typically reaches under load, depending on temperature and power, and the difference between the two modes is small.
Memory and interface
The card carries 8GB of GDDR6 memory and uses a PCIe 5.0 interface. PCIe is backward compatible, so it should work in older slots, though the listing doesn't say how performance changes. Memory capacity matters most at high resolutions and with high-detail textures. 8GB is a common size for Full HD and many 1440p games, but check the demands of titles you play.
Cooling design
ASUS has several cooling claims:
- Axial-tech fans: a smaller hub allows longer blades, and a barrier ring raises downward air pressure through the heatsink.
- 0dB technology: typically means the fans stop at light loads, so browsing and video are close to silent.
- Dual ball fan bearings: ASUS says they last up to twice as long as sleeve bearings.
- Dual BIOS: a switch between Quiet and Performance profiles, so you can trade noise for speed.
- Auto-Extreme manufacturing: an automated process ASUS says aids precision and reliability.
Size and compatibility
The card is described as SFF-ready, meaning suited to small form factor builds, and uses a 2-slot design. It measures 8.0 x 4.7 x 1.6 inches (about 20 x 12 x 4 cm) and weighs 1.1 lb. Still, check case clearance against your own case's maximum card length and width.
Display outputs
Outputs include HDMI 2.1b and DisplayPort 2.1b. Those are recent versions, supporting high resolutions and refresh rates. How much you gain depends on your monitor and cable, so check your screen's inputs and the card's port layout in the manual.
Software
GPU Tweak III is ASUS's utility for performance tuning, advanced thermal control and system monitoring. It's optional, and the card works with standard NVIDIA drivers.
Who it suits
It suits people building or upgrading a compact desktop who want current-generation features such as DLSS 4, and those moving up from an older card for Full HD gaming. People who want to play the most demanding games at high resolution and top settings might consider a higher-tier card.
What to check before you buy
- Case clearance: confirm length, width and the two-slot thickness fit.
- Power supply: the listing gives no wattage or connector details, so check ASUS's specification page.
- Slot: you need a free PCIe x16 slot.
- Monitor inputs: match HDMI or DisplayPort to your screen.
- Game support: DLSS 4 only works where developers include it.
- Processor pairing: an old processor may limit the card.
