The ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti OC Edition (DUAL-RTX4060TI-O16G) is a desktop graphics card built on NVIDIA's Ada Lovelace architecture, with 16GB of GDDR6 memory. It's a dual-fan design with a factory overclock, intended for gaming PCs and for creative work that benefits from GPU acceleration.

Ada Lovelace, DLSS 3 and ray tracing

ASUS lists NVIDIA DLSS 3 and full ray tracing. DLSS is an upscaling and frame-generation technology: the card renders at a lower resolution and AI-based processing reconstructs the image, and with DLSS 3 it can also generate additional frames. ASUS quotes up to 4x more performance with DLSS 3 than brute-force rendering. That depends on the game supporting DLSS 3, so check support for the titles you play.

The card has 4th-generation Tensor Cores, which handle the AI work, and 3rd-generation RT cores, for which ASUS cites up to 2x ray tracing performance. Ray tracing simulates light more realistically, at a cost in frame rate.

What 16GB of memory is for

Video memory holds textures and other data for the GPU. Higher-resolution textures and larger scenes use more of it. A 16GB card has extra room for demanding settings and for tasks like video editing or 3D work, though memory capacity is only one factor in speed.

Clock speeds

This is an OC Edition. ASUS lists 2625 MHz in OC mode and 2595 MHz in standard mode. Clock speed is one factor in performance, and the difference between the two modes is small.

Cooling: Axial-tech fans and 2.5-slot design

ASUS says the Axial-tech fan design uses a smaller hub to increase airflow through the cooling system. The fans use double ball bearings, which ASUS says can last up to twice as long as plain bearings. The 2.5-slot cooler takes up two and a half expansion slots in a case, which ASUS says maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency in small cases.

Connections

The card has one HDMI 2.1a port and three DisplayPort 1.4a ports, and it uses a PCIe 4.0 interface. It is about 8.9 x 2.0 x 4.9 inches as shipped, per the listing, and weighs 2.2 lb (about 1 kg).

Who it suits

It suits gamers playing at 1080p or 1440p who want DLSS 3 and ray tracing, and people who want more video memory for creative workloads. It also suits builds in smaller cases.

What to check before you buy

  • Case clearance: check the card's length and thickness against your case and neighbouring slots.
  • Power supply: confirm the wattage and connectors recommended by NVIDIA and ASUS.
  • Motherboard slot: it uses PCIe 4.0 and normally works in a PCIe x16 slot, including on older versions at reduced bandwidth.
  • Monitor inputs: check that your displays match HDMI 2.1a or DisplayPort 1.4a.
  • Software support: DLSS 3 only works in supported games.
