The ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB OC Edition (model DUAL-RTX4060TI-O16G) is a graphics card for desktop PCs, built on NVIDIA's Ada Lovelace architecture. ASUS positions it for people putting together an entry-level gaming PC, with 16GB of memory and a compact two-fan cooler.
The GPU and its technology
The card uses Ada Lovelace streaming multiprocessors, which NVIDIA says offer up to twice the performance and power efficiency of the previous generation. It also has 4th generation Tensor Cores and 3rd generation RT Cores. Tensor Cores handle AI work, including DLSS 3, an upscaling and frame-generation technology that NVIDIA says delivers up to four times the performance of brute-force rendering in supported games. RT Cores accelerate ray tracing, a lighting technique that models how light bounces; NVIDIA rates them for up to twice the ray-tracing performance. These figures are the manufacturer's and depend on the game.
What 16GB of memory means
The card has 16GB of GDDR6 video memory. Video memory holds textures, frame data and other assets, so higher-resolution settings and large texture packs typically need more of it. Extra memory doesn't raise the raw speed of the GPU by itself, but it can help prevent stutters in games and creative apps that would otherwise fill a smaller pool.
Cooling and noise
ASUS lists an Axial-tech fan design, with a smaller hub that allows longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure. The 0dB feature stops the fans at low loads, so light gaming or desktop use can be nearly silent. A Dual BIOS switch lets you choose a Quiet or Performance profile without installing software. The fans use dual ball bearings, which ASUS says can last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs.
Size and compatibility
At 8.9 x 4.8 x 1.9 inches and 1.5 lb, the 2.5-slot design is meant to maximise compatibility and cooling in small chassis. A 2.5-slot card occupies the space of two and a half expansion slots, so check how much room your case and neighbouring slots have. It connects over PCIe 4.0 and is described as an OC Edition, meaning ASUS ships it with a factory overclock.
Display outputs
The card offers HDMI 2.1a and DisplayPort 1.4a. HDMI 2.1 is the standard that carries high-resolution, high-refresh signals to modern TVs and monitors.
Who it suits
It suits builders and upgraders who want a quiet card with a generous memory pool and current NVIDIA features like DLSS 3 and ray tracing, particularly in smaller cases.
What to check before you buy
- Case clearance: confirm length and 2.5-slot thickness against your case.
- Power supply: check the card's rated power and connector needs in the ASUS manual and compare with your PSU.
- Motherboard slot: it uses PCIe; confirm you have a free full-size x16 slot.
- Monitor ports: make sure your display has a compatible HDMI or DisplayPort input.
- Games and apps: DLSS 3 only helps in titles that support it.
- What's in the box: check for any adapter or support bracket.
