The WORX WG602 is a compact electric pressure washer for jobs around the home, such as cleaning a driveway, deck, siding or brickwork. It plugs into a household outlet, so there is no engine to start or fuel to keep on hand. It is aimed at occasional outdoor cleaning rather than heavy commercial work.
What PSI and GPM mean
Two numbers describe a pressure washer. PSI is the pressure of the water at the nozzle, and it relates to how hard the spray hits a surface. GPM is the flow rate in gallons per minute, which relates to how quickly the water carries dirt away. Cleaning power is often thought of as the combination of the two.
WORX rates the WG602 at 1700 PSI and 1.2 GPM, with maximum figures of 1870 PSI and 1.4 GPM. In general, the maximum figure is a peak, and the rated figure is the sustained working level. Models in this range are commonly used for light to medium household cleaning.
The 13-amp motor
The 13-amp motor runs from a standard household outlet. WORX describes the washer as light and compact, and says it is simple enough that almost anyone can use it without being knocked over by the spray. Because electric machines are limited by what an outlet can supply, check the circuit you plan to use, and use an extension cord only as the manual allows.
Nozzles and quick-connect wand
The wand has a universal ¼-inch quick-connect, so you can change nozzles without tools. Two nozzles are in the box:
- A turbo nozzle, which WORX suggests for brickwork and other jobs that need maximum pressure. Turbo nozzles typically spin a narrow jet in a cone to cover more area with concentrated force.
- A 40° nozzle, for a lighter touch on more delicate surfaces. Wider spray angles are gentler.
Before cleaning wood, painted surfaces or vehicles, check the manual and test a small, hidden spot first.
Designed for easy handling and storage
The unit measures 14.1 x 9.1 x 10.6 inches (about 36 x 23 x 27 cm). It has an integrated carry handle, molded-in feet for stability, a cord wrap and onboard storage for the wand and nozzles. A 20-ft hose is included. WORX also suggests using it to rinse mud from camping or sports gear.
Who it suits
It suits homeowners and renters who want a small, plug-in washer for periodic jobs on patios, decks, siding, outdoor furniture and equipment. People with large areas to clean often, or who want to clean stubborn, heavily soiled surfaces quickly, may look for higher flow rates.
What to check before you buy
- Reach: consider the distance from your outlet and water tap, against the 20-ft hose and the cord length.
- Water supply: confirm you have a garden hose connection and enough water flow, as the manual requires.
- Surfaces: check which surfaces suit which nozzle, and the minimum safe distance.
- Power: make sure the circuit can handle a 13-amp load.
- What's in the box: washer, wand, hose and two nozzles; check if you need extras, such as a detergent option.
- Storage: drain water from the pump and hoses before cold weather, as the manual advises.
