The Worx WG512 TRIVAC is a corded electric tool that works as a leaf blower, a yard vacuum and a leaf mulcher. This listing pairs it with a Yard Master 120-foot outdoor extension cord, so the cord that lets you reach across a yard comes in the same package. It's meant for autumn clean-ups where you want to move leaves, then shrink what's left.

Three modes, one dial

Worx says a turn of a dial switches the TRIVAC from blower to vacuum and mulcher, without changing tubes or using tools. In blower mode, a 2-speed control lets you work on low around tight corners and on high across open ground, up to 70 mph according to Worx. In vacuum mode, leaves are drawn into the machine, chopped, and delivered to the bag.

Air volume and what 600 CFM means

CFM is cubic feet per minute, a measure of how much air the blower moves. Worx rates this model at 600 CFM through a wide-mouth tube. Air speed (mph) tells you how hard the air hits, while CFM tells you how much air arrives. A high CFM helps push a wide swath of leaves per pass, and a wide tube means fewer passes.

Metal mulcher and the 16:1 ratio

The impeller is metal and carries a shredder blade that cuts in two stages. Worx quotes a 16:1 mulch ratio, meaning the volume of leaves is reduced to about a sixteenth, so one bag holds the contents of many. The collection bag is rated at 1.4 bushels and detaches with an easy release for composting or disposal.

Weight and motor

The 12 amp electric motor does without fuel or mixing, and Worx describes the result as cleaner and quieter than gas-powered blowers. The tool weighs 10 lb (about 4.5 kg), which Worx says allows one-handed use.

The extension cord

The second product is a Yard Master 9940010 cord, 120 feet long. The listing gives it as 16-gauge, two-prong (16/2), rated 10A at 125V, with SJTW weather-resistant jacket, molded plugs and strain relief. A thin 16-gauge cord is described as light duty, and long runs on thin cords can lose voltage, so check that its 10A limit suits the tool's 12A draw. Read the cord's limits and the blower's manual before connecting them.

Who it suits

It suits owners of small to mid-sized yards with trees who want one tool for blowing, collecting and reducing leaves, and who have an outdoor outlet within cord reach.

What to check before you buy

  • Cord limit: compare the cord's 10A figure with the tool's 12A draw, and follow the manual on extension cords.
  • Outlet access: confirm an outdoor outlet within 120 feet of where you'll work.
  • Bag capacity: a 1.4-bushel bag fills and is emptied often on large lawns.
  • Noise: wear hearing protection, and check local rules on hours of use.
  • Upkeep: check the manual for clearing jams and replacing impeller parts.
  • What's in the box: this listing combines two products from different makers.
