The VEVOR PGK-D40 is a portable golf chipping game for the lawn. Instead of digging holes, it uses six fabric buckets with flags as targets, so you can set up a short course in a garden, park or on a beach in a few minutes and pack it away afterwards. It is designed for families, including beginners and children.
What's in the set
VEVOR lists six golf buckets, six flags, six tee boxes and nine balls, along with a 600D Oxford cloth storage bag. The set accommodates up to six players. Clubs are not included. VEVOR recommends lightweight clubs of about 47 to 59 inches (1200 to 1500 mm), which is a long reach and suggests the set is meant for adults and taller children, so check this if you plan to use child-sized clubs.
Larger balls for easier hitting
The balls are TPE pickleball-style balls measuring 2.76 inches (70 mm), noticeably larger than a regulation golf ball. A bigger ball is easier to hit cleanly, which is why VEVOR says it suits beginners and children. Soft balls also tend to be gentler around a garden than hard ones, though you should still keep people and windows well clear of the hitting area.
Buckets, flags and tee boxes
The targets are Oxford cloth buckets with reinforced lock rings, and the flag sticks are fiberglass. The tee boxes are made from corrosion-resistant PE. Because there are six tee boxes, you can place them at different angles and distances, changing the difficulty from hole to hole or making a new layout each time you play.
Setting up a course
A simple way to start is to place the buckets at varied distances, from short chips to longer shots, and put a tee box for each. Players take turns, count their shots and add up scores like regular golf. For younger players, use shorter distances and give them the largest margin for error. VEVOR says it isn't recommended in strong winds, as the lightweight buckets and flags can be blown around.
Size and storage
The packed set is about 11.8 x 11.8 x 12.2 inches (30 x 30 x 31 cm) and weighs 6.3 lb (2.9 kg). It fits in the supplied bag, which makes it easy to take to a campsite, the park or a beach.
Who it suits
It suits families with a garden, groups of friends who want a casual party game, and golfers who want a low-effort way to practise chipping. Since clubs aren't included, it also suits anyone who already has a spare club or two.
What to check before you buy
- Clubs: you need your own; check their length against VEVOR's recommendation.
- Space: plan for enough lawn to chip safely, with nobody standing in front of the player.
- Ground: buckets are best on grass or sand; check how they sit on hard surfaces.
- Wind: the set is not recommended for strong winds.
- Players: the set is built for up to six at a time.
- Supervision: children should always be supervised when swinging clubs.
