The VEVOR GC-018D is a four-wheel garden dump cart with a polypropylene (PP) tray and a metal frame. It carries soil, mulch, firewood, leaves and tools around a yard, and its handle converts so it can also be towed behind a lawn tractor, ATV or UTV. Here is what its specs mean.
Capacity and load limit
VEVOR rates the cart at 1200 lb (about 544 kg) with a capacity of about 7 cubic feet (roughly 200 litres). Those are two different limits. Soil, gravel and wet material are dense, so a tray can be full by weight before it is full by volume. Dry leaves are the opposite, filling the volume with very little weight. The load limit is also worth comparing against the towing vehicle's own limits when you hitch it.
The 2-in-1 handle
The handle works two ways. As a hand-pulling cart, you grip it and walk. As a trailer, it connects to a hitch on a mower, tractor or ATV/UTV, which suits long distances on a large lawn or small farm. VEVOR says the handle rotates 270° side to side and 180° up and down, which helps with turning, backing out and moving through narrow paths. Check the hitch height and fitting for your vehicle, and follow the vehicle manual's towing guidance.
Tires and tray
The 13-inch (330 mm) wheels are PU flat-free tires, which means no inner tube and no punctures. VEVOR says they handle grass, mud and gravel. Flat-free tires are typically firmer than air-filled ones, so the ride is less cushioned on rough ground. The tray is 3 mm thick PP, which holds its shape and does not rust, while the frame is rust-treated and reinforced with 25 mm (1 inch) metal brackets and a scratch-resistant paint coating.
Quick-release dumping
The tray has a quick-dump design: lift the release and the tray tips, so wet soil, leaves and debris slide out without shovelling them from the cart. This is often the main reason people choose a dump cart over a standard wheelbarrow, because it saves effort on repeated loads.
Size and weight
The cart measures 28.7 x 44.1 x 25.6 inches (about 73 x 112 x 65 cm) and weighs 63.9 lb (about 29 kg) before loading. Check the space in your shed or garage, as four-wheel carts take up more floor space than single-wheel barrows.
Who it suits
It suits gardeners with a medium or large yard, hobby farmers, landscapers on smaller jobs and anyone who already owns a lawn tractor or ATV and wants to move material over distance. Those with tight, stepped gardens may prefer a lighter barrow.
What to check before you buy
- Real loads: think about the weight of what you carry, not just the volume.
- Terrain: flat-free tires are firm, so consider slopes, ruts and steps in your yard.
- Towing: confirm that your vehicle's hitch fits the connector, and stay within its towing capacity.
- Storage space: allow room for a cart of about 44 inches long.
- Safety on slopes: a loaded cart can be hard to control downhill, so follow the manual and keep within safe speeds when towing.
- Care: rinse out soil and dry the tray to keep the frame and fittings in shape.
