The VEVOR outdoor dog kennel (model SKU2025006) is a large, walk-in enclosure made of steel tubing and welded wire. It gives a dog a defined outdoor area in the garden or on a property, with a roof cover for sun and rain. It is a pen to be assembled on site, not a small crate.
Size and layout
The kennel is 9.84 x 9.84 ft (about 3 x 3 m) on the ground and 7.05 ft (about 2.15 m) tall. That is roughly 97 square feet (9 square metres) of floor, and tall enough for most adults to stand upright inside. VEVOR describes it as an outdoor "apartment" where a large dog can run, roam and rest. It weighs about 100.7 lb (45.7 kg) packed.
Frame and wire
The frame uses heavy-duty steel tubing and welded wire, with a powder-coated finish. Powder coating is a baked-on layer that typically resists rust and chipping better than ordinary paint, although scratches can still expose the metal. VEVOR says the finish resists rust, corrosion and wear, and that the frame stands up to knocks from active dogs without tipping.
Roof cover
A silver-coated polyethylene (PE) tarp covers part of the top. VEVOR says it is water-resistant, blocks UV and gives protection from sun, rain and wind. Tarps like this generally need to be pulled taut and checked now and then, since wind and sun wear them over time. The roof does not cover everything: VEVOR notes the area is open in places and suggests fitting a mesh cover over the open roof section to stop a dog jumping out. That's worth considering for athletic dogs.
Door and latch
The door has a locking system that VEVOR says helps avoid accidental opening. Check the latch each time you close it, and consider whether your dog could work it loose.
Assembly
The panels join with a clamp-and-screw design, which VEVOR describes as quick. Plan on at least two people and a flat spot. Anchoring the kennel in line with the manual will help in wind.
Who it suits
It suits owners of large dogs who want a secure outdoor run in a garden, on a farm or at a cabin. It isn't a substitute for company or exercise. Dogs need shade, water, shelter and regular attention, so follow your vet's advice and any local rules on keeping animals outdoors.
What to check before you buy
- Space: the footprint is about 3 x 3 m, so measure the ground and allow room to walk around it.
- Ground: a flat, well-drained surface suits it best.
- Your dog: consider its size, whether it climbs or digs, and whether you need a mesh cover on top.
- Shade and shelter: think about what else you'll add, such as water bowls and a bed.
- Local rules: some areas and housing associations restrict outdoor enclosures.
- Upkeep: check the tarp, clamps and screws regularly, and clean the floor area.
