The VEVOR canvas bell tent is a round, centre-pole tent with a 4 m (13.12 ft) diameter. It sleeps up to six people according to VEVOR and includes a stove jack, so it is built for longer family camping trips, glamping and hunting camps rather than quick overnight stops.
Canvas and how it handles weather
The fabric is a cotton and polyester blend, which VEVOR calls TC technology. Cotton-rich canvas is typically more breathable than plain synthetic fabric, which helps reduce condensation inside, and it tends to stay more comfortable in warm weather. VEVOR says it suits all four seasons. Canvas is heavy compared with modern nylon tents, and it usually needs to be fully dried before packing away to prevent mildew.
Poles and pegging
A galvanized iron centre pole and door poles hold the tent up. Twelve reflective nylon guy ropes with 12 aluminium alloy tensioners secure it, and ground stakes are included. Reflective ropes are easier to see after dark, which helps reduce trips. In wind, correct pegging and tensioning matter as much as the poles, so follow the manual's setup order.
Stove jack and heating
The tent has a 5 in (about 12.7 cm) stove hole made from flame-resistant material, with a 43 x 43 cm flap. A stove jack lets a flue pass through the wall so a wood stove can be used inside. Heating inside a tent carries real risks, including fire and carbon monoxide. Follow the stove maker's instructions, keep the flue clear of the fabric, keep the tent ventilated and use a carbon monoxide alarm. VEVOR does not supply a stove.
Ventilation and insects
There are four mesh-covered windows. Roll-up canvas panels and mesh keep insects out while allowing airflow in summer, and the panels can be closed in cooler weather.
Size and setup
At 4 m across, VEVOR says it fits up to six people. In practice, six people is a tight fit with bags and gear, so many campers treat the figure as a maximum rather than a comfortable number. VEVOR describes setup as four simple steps, and a rain cap is included. Bell tents are often easier with two people.
The packed size is about 13 x 13 x 36.2 in and the weight is listed as 50 lb (about 23 kg), so this is a car-camping tent, not one for carrying on a trail.
What comes with it
The listing mentions a rain cap, ground stakes, a stake hammer, a tent bag and storage bags with handles.
Who it suits
It suits families and groups who camp from a car, glampers who want a roomy canvas shelter, and hunting or festival camps where a heated tent is useful. It is less suited to backpacking.
What to check before you buy
- Pitch: a 4 m circle needs flat, clear ground, plus room for the guy ropes.
- Group size: work out how much space beds, bags and gear take.
- Stove: check the stove's flue size against the 5 in stove hole, and follow its safety instructions.
- Weight: confirm you can lift and carry it from the car.
- Care: plan to dry it fully before storing it.
- Groundsheet: check what's included for flooring and whether you need to add one.
