The VEVOR ZJTM1009 is a 3 m (9.8 ft) canvas bell tent, a round, single-pole tent with a stove vent for cooler weather. VEVOR sells it for up to four people and for four-season use, with ropes, stakes and storage bags in the box. Here is what the specs mean in practice.

Shape, size and capacity

A bell tent has a circular floor and a tall centre pole, which gives standing room near the middle and a roomy, open interior. This model has a 3 m coverage diameter and a height of 200 cm (78.7 in). VEVOR says it accommodates up to four people. A 3 m circle is about 7 square metres, so that is a snug fit for four people with bedding, and noticeably more relaxed for two or three plus gear.

Materials: TC canvas

VEVOR describes the fabric as TC technology cotton. TC usually means a polyester-cotton blend. Cotton is breathable and helps reduce condensation, while the polyester content typically adds strength and cuts the weight and drying time. The brand says this reduces condensation inside in different weather. The centre and door poles are galvanized iron.

Windows and ventilation

There are four windows on the roof and four on the walls, eight in total. VEVOR says the four mesh-covered windows keep insects out while letting a breeze through, and that the roll-up canvas and mesh panels let you choose between open and closed. Good airflow matters in any tent, particularly in summer heat.

The stove jack

The tent has a 5-inch stove hole made from flame-resistant material, with a 43 x 43 cm flap. This is a sleeve in the canvas that lets a stove flue pass through safely. The listing lists one chimney vent. Burning anything inside a tent carries real risks, including fire and carbon monoxide. Follow the stove maker's instructions and the tent's manual, keep the flue clear of the fabric, ventilate well and use a carbon monoxide alarm, as standard guidance recommends.

Setting up

VEVOR says setup takes four steps. The pack lists:

  • 20 ground stakes and 1 hammer
  • 10 windproof reflective ropes with 10 aluminum alloy rope tensioners
  • A rain cap
  • 1 tent bag and 2 storage bags with handles

The tent weighs about 17.1 kg (37.7 lb), so it is a car-camping or fixed-site tent rather than a backpacking one. Pitching it on level ground and guying out all ten ropes helps it cope with wind.

Who it suits

  • Families or small groups camping from a car.
  • Campers who want a tent with room to stand and move.
  • Glampers, festival-goers and seasonal-site users who want a longer stay.
  • People who plan to use a stove and want a purpose-built vent.

What to check before you buy

  • Floor and groundsheet: the listing doesn't mention a sewn-in floor, so confirm what is included and whether you need a separate groundsheet.
  • Space for your group: count sleeping mats, cots and gear, not just people.
  • Weight and packing size: 17.1 kg needs carrying and car space.
  • Pitching ground: you need a clear, level circle of at least 3 m plus room for ropes.
  • Stove: buy a stove designed for tent use and check the stove jack fits its flue.
  • Care: canvas needs to be dried fully before storing to avoid mildew, and may need re-proofing over time.
