The VEVOR S120 is a foldable 120W solar panel that turns sunlight into power for phones, tablets, laptops, power banks and portable power stations. It folds down to a flat panel about the size of a large tray, so it can travel to a campsite, a boat or a backyard and be set up in the sun in a minute or two.
What 120W means in practice
The 120W figure is the panel's maximum output under ideal conditions: strong, direct sun and the panel pointed squarely at it. VEVOR gives the working electrical values as 18V and 6.66A, which multiply out to roughly 120W. Real output is normally lower, because cloud, haze, a low sun angle, shade and heat all reduce it. Think of 120W as the ceiling rather than the everyday figure, and plan charging times with that in mind.
Monocrystalline cells and ETFE surface
VEVOR says the cells are monocrystalline with a conversion efficiency above 23%, and compares that with about 15% for other panels. Monocrystalline cells are generally the more efficient type, which matters on a portable panel because efficiency decides how much power you get from a given area.
The surface is ETFE, a clear polymer film used on many foldable panels. It is typically lighter and more flexible than glass, which suits a panel that is folded and carried. VEVOR rates the surface IP67 and lists an operating range of -10°C to 65°C, with 25°C as the optimal temperature.
Ports and what you can connect
The panel has four ways to deliver power:
- Two USB ports with QC3.0 (Quick Charge) fast charging
- One USB-C port
- One 18V DC output
VEVOR lists phones, iPads, laptops, power banks and power stations as targets. The USB ports suit small devices directly. The 18V DC output is the one you would typically use to feed a power station, provided that station's solar input accepts that voltage and connector. A DC adapter cable is included in the box.
Size, weight and setup
Unfolded, the panel measures 68.23 x 21.06 inches (1733 x 535 mm). Folded, it is 18.86 x 21.06 x 1.18 inches (479 x 535 x 30 mm). It weighs 11.9 lb (5.39 kg). That is easy to carry for short distances, but it is a large panel when open, so you will need a clear patch of ground or a surface to lean it against, ideally angled toward the sun and moved as the sun moves.
Who it suits
It suits campers, hikers and anglers who want to keep small devices charged, people with a portable power station who want a way to top it up, and anyone wanting backup charging at home during an outage. It is not a replacement for a fixed rooftop system, and 120W will only run or recharge modest loads.
What to check before you buy
- Your power station's input: confirm its voltage range, maximum input watts and connector type, and whether the supplied DC adapter cable fits.
- Your devices: laptops in particular vary in how they accept USB-C power, so check the wattage your laptop needs.
- Space and sun: make sure you have room for a panel of about 1.7 m long and a spot that gets direct sun for several hours.
- Carrying: at nearly 12 lb plus the folded size, check it fits your pack, vehicle or storage space.
- What's in the box: the listing names a DC adapter cable and a user manual. Cables for specific devices may need to be bought separately.
- Care: follow the manual for cleaning the surface, storing it and connecting it safely.
The short version
- A foldable 120W monocrystalline ETFE solar panel, model S120, at 18V and 6.66A.
- VEVOR quotes conversion efficiency above 23% and an IP67-rated surface.
- Outputs: two QC3.0 USB ports, one USB-C and one 18V DC.
- Weighs 11.9 lb (5.39 kg); 18.86 x 21.06 inches when folded.
- Real-world output depends on sun, angle and temperature, so expect less than 120W much of the time.
