The Seesii PS600 is a battery-powered saw that works two ways: as a handheld 6-inch mini chainsaw, or fitted to an extension pole for high branches. It is aimed at tree trimming and yard clean-up where a petrol chainsaw would be more than you need.

Two tools in one

Detached from the pole, it is a one-handed saw for low branches, shrubs and logs. Seesii says it weighs 3.4 lb in this form, which keeps it manageable. Attach the pole and it becomes a pole saw. The whole assembly is listed at about 48.9 in long and 8.5 lb.

Reach

Seesii says the pole lets you trim up to 10 feet high. That figure is typically the height of the cut, so how much reach you actually need depends on where you stand. Working from the ground avoids ladders, which is the main reason people choose pole saws.

Cutting angle

The head has an adjustable cutting angle. In general, an adjustable head helps you cut over fences, around corners and in undergrowth without twisting your body.

Motor and cutting capacity

The saw has a brush motor. Brush motors are simple and widely used in tools at this size; brushless designs typically run cooler and last longer but are usually found on larger tools. Seesii says the saw cuts branches up to 6 inches thick. Because the bar is a 6-inch size, thicker branches may need more than one pass.

Batteries

Two 21V 2000mAh batteries are included, so you can swap one in while the other charges. Runtime depends on the wood and how hard you push, so the brand gives no fixed figure.

Automatic oiling

An automatic lubrication system oils the chain as it runs, so you do not have to stop and apply oil by hand. You still need to keep the oil reservoir topped up, as the manual describes.

Using a pole saw sensibly

Cutting overhead brings its own habits. In general, stand to the side of the branch rather than directly beneath it, plan where the cut piece will fall, and make large branches in stages so the weight does not pinch the bar. A cordless tool is easier to carry around the garden than a petrol saw, but the chain is just as sharp, so switch it off and remove the battery when changing the chain, adjusting the head or clearing a jam. The manual covers chain tension and the correct way to hold the pole.

Who it suits

It suits homeowners with small to medium trees, hedges and shrubs, and anyone who wants a quieter, fume-free option for light pruning. Larger trees and felling are jobs for professionals.

What to check before you buy

  • Branch size: compare your typical branches with the stated 6-inch capacity.
  • Height: work out what reach you need and where you will stand.
  • Oil and chain: check the manual for the oil type and chain care.
  • Protective gear: wear eye protection, gloves and head protection, and keep clear of the falling branch.
  • Power lines: never cut near them; check local rules and the manual.
