The DREAME A3 AWD Pro (LiDAR 3500) is a robotic lawn mower that needs no boundary wire and no RTK antenna. It mows by itself, navigates with its own sensors and is controlled from an app. DREAME designed it for yards with slopes, trees and awkward shapes, and rates it for lawns of up to 0.87 acre.

Many robot mowers rely on a buried boundary wire or on satellite positioning (RTK), which can lose accuracy near trees, fences and buildings. The A3 AWD Pro instead uses what DREAME calls OmniSense 3.0: 360° 3D LiDAR combined with binocular AI vision. The brand says it maps everything from the ground up to the treetops, detects obstacles from 240 ft away and recognises more than 300 kinds of obstacle in real time.

Boundaries are drawn as virtual lines in the Dreamehome app after automatic mapping. The listing mentions support for 100 zones, 100 no-go areas and 50 paths.

Four-wheel drive and slopes

Four hub motors drive the wheels. DREAME says the mower climbs slopes up to 38.7° (80%) and keeps traction on uneven or damp ground. Treat the slope figure as a ceiling under good conditions, and follow the manual's guidance for your own yard.

A suspension system helps it cross roots, curbs and thresholds up to 2.2 inches high, and zero-turn manoeuvrability lets it pivot in tight spots.

Cutting performance

Two floating discs give a 15.8-inch (40 cm) cutting width. DREAME says Rush mode covers up to 8,611 sq ft (about 800 m²) per hour. EdgeMaster 2.0 is meant to cut close to borders and leave almost no uncut strip, which can reduce trimmer work.

Cutting height is set in the app between 1 and 4 inches (about 2.5 to 10 cm). The brand says it handles warm-season and cool-season grasses, and overgrown grass up to 8 inches tall.

Noise and scheduling

The mower is described as ultra-quiet, so scheduling it for night or early morning is possible. Local noise rules and the manual still apply.

Tracking and monitoring

DREAME lists 24/7 yard monitoring with human-detection alerts, plus GPS and 4G tracking and anti-theft features, with notifications in the app.

Size

It measures about 38.7 x 16.7 x 23.5 inches and weighs 26.4 lb (about 12 kg).

Who it suits

It suits owners of medium lawns with slopes, islands of grass or many obstacles, who want mowing to run on a schedule. Very large or heavily cluttered lots deserve a closer look at the stated coverage area.

What to check before you buy

  • Lawn size and slope: compare your yard with the 0.87-acre coverage figure and the slope limits.
  • Connectivity: the app, GPS and 4G functions depend on your network and subscription terms, if any.
  • Charging station: it needs a level, sheltered spot with a power outlet.
  • Obstacles: consider ponds, steps, edges and anything it should not drive over.
  • Safety: keep children and pets away while it runs and follow the manual's blade guidance.
  • Upkeep: blades and wheels need periodic checks, and the manual covers winter storage.
