eufy E15 Robot Lawn Mower (T2880): features, limits and who it suits

The eufy E15 is a wire-free robot mower for lawns up to 0.2 acres, using cameras for mapping and obstacle avoidance. What the specs mean and what to check.

The eufy E15 (model T2880) is a robotic lawn mower for small, fairly flat lawns. It uses cameras instead of a boundary wire to work out where to mow, and you manage it from a phone app. It is meant for people who want regular, light mowing handled without pushing a mower themselves.

Mapping without a boundary wire

Traditional robot mowers need a wire buried or pegged around the lawn. eufy says the E15 avoids this: it uses what it calls pure vision technology, with high-precision cameras and algorithms, and needs no wires and no RTK station (a separate satellite-correction base that some mowers use for precise positioning). The brand describes hands-free auto mapping, where the mower measures the yard, plans its path and shows the result on your smartphone.

Lawn size and terrain limits

The listing is direct about limits, and they matter. The maximum mapping area is 0.2 acres (8,700 sq ft, about 800 square metres). It is designed for grass under 3.5 inches (about 9 cm) and flat lawns, with height differences under 1.2 inches. Slopes should be under 18°. eufy notes that it is not suitable for St. Augustine grass or dense Zoysia. Cutting height is adjustable from 1 to 3 inches (roughly 2.5 to 7.5 cm).

Obstacle avoidance and cutting pattern

A 3D perception system is meant to detect obstacles so the mower avoids collisions in busy gardens, such as around furniture, toys or planters. eufy says the E15 cuts in uniform parallel lines and uses a coverage-detection system so no area is left uncut. Multi-zone management lets you treat parts of a yard separately, for instance a front and back lawn.

App control, rain and light

The app handles mapping, scheduling and control. The brand says the mower returns automatically during rain or low light. Connectivity matters for a camera-based machine: eufy suggests subscribing to a 4G data plan through the app if your yard is not fully covered by Wi-Fi.

GPS tracking

The E15 has GPS tracking, which eufy presents as a deterrent against theft. It can help you see where the mower is, but it does not replace sensible storage.

Size and weight

The unit measures about 23 x 15 x 12 inches (58 x 38 x 30 cm) and weighs 28 lb (about 12.7 kg). That is light enough to carry to a new area or into storage for winter.

Who it suits

It suits owners of small to medium, relatively even lawns who prefer frequent light cutting to weekly mowing sessions. It is less suited to large, steep or rough properties, or lawns of the grass types the brand says to avoid.

What to check before you buy

  • Lawn area: measure your lawn; the listed limit is 0.2 acres.
  • Slope and bumps: check for slopes above 18° or height changes above 1.2 inches.
  • Grass type and height: confirm your grass is under 3.5 inches and not a listed unsuitable type.
  • Wi-Fi coverage: test the signal across the yard, and note the optional 4G subscription.
  • Storage and charging: plan a sheltered, level spot with power.
  • Upkeep: check the manual on blade replacement and cleaning.

The short version

  • A wire-free robot mower, model T2880, using vision-based navigation.
  • Maps up to 0.2 acres; handles slopes under 18° and cutting heights of 1 to 3 inches.
  • 3D obstacle detection, multi-zone management and app control.
  • Returns on its own in rain or low light; includes GPS tracking.
  • About 28 lb; not suited to the grass types the brand excludes.
