The LANGXUN LX-1200 is a 1200W foam cannon on a tripod stand, built to cover a backyard or pool area in foam for parties. It plugs into a standard household outlet and comes with foam granules and a water tank, so everything needed for a first run is in the box. Here is how it works and what its numbers mean.

How a foam cannon works

Party foam machines like this one mix a foam concentrate with water in a separate tank. A small pump draws the foamy water up a hose to the cannon, where a fan blows air through it and pushes out a steady stream of foam. The longer it runs, the deeper the foam builds on the ground.

The LX-1200 sits on a tripod stand about 51 inches (roughly 130 cm) tall. A knob on the bracket lets you tilt the cannon to change the spray angle, and the amount of foam it makes can also be adjusted. That helps match the output to a small patio or a larger lawn.

What 800 gallons a minute means

LANGXUN says the machine makes up to 800 gallons (about 3,000 litres) of foam per minute. Foam is mostly air, so a tank of water goes a long way. According to LANGXUN, the included 20-gallon (about 75-litre) tank of foamy water runs for about 15 minutes and makes around 12,000 gallons of foam, enough to cover a yard of roughly 1,000 square feet (about 93 m²).

Real results depend on the mix, the wind and the temperature. Foam also settles and breaks down over time, so it is usual to run a machine like this in bursts during a party rather than all at once.

What comes in the box

  • The foam cannon on its tripod stand, with the pump and hose.
  • Three packs of foam granules, two white and one red, at 2.2 pounds (about 1 kg) each.
  • A 20-gallon plastic water tank.

The power cord is 8.5 feet (2.6 m) long, and the machine runs on 110-120V AC. LANGXUN lists the weight as 3.5 kg (about 7.7 lb) and the materials as iron and plastic.

Setting up and packing away

LANGXUN says it takes about three minutes to set up or take down, and the machine is compact enough to travel in a car. The fan is waterproof, a change LANGXUN made to stop foam water from causing faults. The brand also lists a leak-proof design and overheating protection.

The controller and power socket, however, are not waterproof. Keep them dry and off wet ground, and avoid running the machine in very humid conditions. Since the cord is fairly short, plan where the cannon will stand in relation to an outlet; outdoor outlets are typically GFCI-protected, which is the usual choice for electrical equipment used near water.

Who it suits

It suits families hosting birthday parties, pool parties or summer gatherings in a garden or yard, and anyone organising a foam dance floor or games at a larger event. LANGXUN also mentions weddings and corporate events. The listing says the machine should be run by someone over 16.

What to check before you buy

  • Space: you need an open area and a nearby outlet, as foam spreads well beyond the cannon.
  • Power: 1200W is a sizeable load, so check what else shares the circuit.
  • Supervision: the operator should be over 16, and LANGXUN recommends goggles for children.
  • Foam powder: LANGXUN notes the powder may cause allergies in some people and advises a skin test first.
  • Refills: check where to source more foam granules once the included packs run out.
  • Warranty: 12 months on quality issues, plus a lifetime warranty on the water pump.

The short version

  • A 1200W foam cannon on a 51-inch tripod stand that plugs into a 110-120V outlet.
  • Up to 800 gallons of foam per minute, according to LANGXUN.
  • Comes with three packs of foam granules and a 20-gallon water tank, good for about 15 minutes per tank.
  • Adjustable spray angle and foam volume; sets up in about three minutes.
  • Keep the controller and socket dry; operator over 16.
