The ECO-WORTHY 25W 12V Solar Battery Charger Kit (model L02M25-1) is a small solar panel packaged with a charge controller, cables and an adjustable mount. It is meant for keeping 12-volt batteries charged on vehicles and equipment that sit unused for long periods, such as a boat, trailer, RV or lawn tractor. It is a maintenance charger rather than a power station.
What 25 watts means in practice
ECO-WORTHY says that under full sunlight the panel can generate about 100Wh of electricity. That is a best-case figure for a day with strong sun, and output typically falls with cloud, shade, a low sun angle and winter days. It is enough to offset the slow self-discharge of a stored battery and to top up small loads, but not to run large appliances. Think of it as a trickle charger that needs no outlet.
The panel
The panel uses monocrystalline silicon cells, which are a common choice for their efficiency in a compact space. ECO-WORTHY says it has low-iron tempered glass and a corrosion-resistant aluminium frame, and describes it as waterproof. It quotes a lifespan of up to 25 years with degradation of about 0.5% per year, and says it withstands wind pressure up to 2400 Pa and snow load up to 5400 Pa. The panel measures 16.8 x 13.4 x 0.7 inches (about 43 x 34 x 2 cm) and weighs 5.1 lb (about 2.3 kg).
The charge controller
A charge controller sits between the panel and the battery so the battery isn't overcharged. This one is a 10A PWM type. PWM (pulse width modulation) controllers are the simpler, more common kind for small panels. ECO-WORTHY says it protects against overcharge, over-discharge, overvoltage, short circuit and reverse current, and shows charging and discharging on two indicator lights. The kit enters maintenance mode once the battery is full. It also has a USB 5V/2A port for charging small devices.
The brand lists many compatible 12V battery types: LiFePO₄, lithium-ion, AGM, SLA, gel, EFB and maintenance-free. Check the battery maker's guidance on solar charging for your particular chemistry.
Mounting and connections
The bracket tilts, and ECO-WORTHY describes a 360° adjustable mount, so you can aim the panel at the sun. Pre-drilled holes on the back make it quick to secure. The panel connects through an SAE connector. The box includes the panel, the controller, a 1.54 ft cable with alligator clips and a 1.38 ft cable with an O-ring terminal. The brand says you can add more 12V 25W panels in parallel to expand the input.
Who it suits
It suits people with vehicles or equipment stored outdoors or in a garage for weeks at a time: a boat, motorcycle, RV, tractor, gate opener or electric fence. It also suits those who want a simple, low-power top-up source.
What to check before you buy
- Battery size: a 25W panel suits maintenance and small batteries, not rapid charging of large banks.
- Sunlight: check that the spot where it will sit gets direct sun for much of the day.
- Connections: confirm the SAE connector and the clips or ring terminal suit your battery.
- Cable length: the supplied cables are short, so plan where the panel and battery will sit.
- Expansion: if you may add panels later, check that the controller's 10A limit and the manual allow it.
- Safety: follow the manual for wiring order and polarity.
The short version
- A 25W monocrystalline panel kit for maintaining 12V batteries.
- Includes a 10A PWM charge controller with a USB 5V/2A port.
- Adjustable bracket and SAE connection cable.
- ECO-WORTHY quotes about 100Wh in full sunlight.
- Suited to vehicles and equipment in storage, not heavy loads.
