The Waterdrop rechargeable electric water filter pitcher is a countertop filter with a built-in pump. Instead of waiting for water to drip through a filter, you press a button and it dispenses filtered water. It holds 15 cups and is meant for kitchens, offices and similar spaces where people want filtered water on hand.
Filtered water at the press of a button
Waterdrop says the electric design and one-key control deliver filtered water almost instantly. Traditional pitchers rely on gravity, which can be slow; this one uses a rechargeable battery to move the water through the filter. The brand says the battery lasts up to 30 days on a full charge, assuming about 101 to 135 ounces of water drawn per day, and it charges over a USB Type-C cable. A charging adapter isn't included.
The filter and what it is certified for
The filter is a carbon block. Waterdrop describes the material as offering strong adsorption with no carbon leakage, and says it improves the taste of drinking water. The listing gives the filtration size as 5 µm in one place and 0.5 µm in another, so confirm the figure with the brand.
According to Waterdrop, the pitcher is certified by IAPMO against NSF/ANSI 401, 53, 42 and 372. In general terms, these standards cover:
- 42: chlorine, taste and odour.
- 53: health-related contaminants such as lead.
- 401: some emerging contaminants.
- 372: lead content of the materials in the product.
Waterdrop says the pitcher reduces more than 35 contaminants including chlorine, lead, microplastics, mercury and benzene, and that third-party tests confirmed reduction of PFOA and PFOS. The listing notes it does not lower TDS. Check the manufacturer's performance data sheet for exactly what is certified and at what levels.
Filter life
Waterdrop says one filter lasts up to three months or 200 gallons, whichever comes first, depending on your local water and use. The replacement model is WD-EDF. Replacing on schedule is generally recommended for any carbon filter, for taste and performance.
Size and design
The unit measures about 12.5 x 12.2 x 7.8 inches and weighs 5.5 lb (about 2.5 kg). Waterdrop says it passed IPX5 water-resistance testing, meaning it is protected against water jets, and that the parts in contact with water are BPA-free. The handle makes it easy to move, and the brand suggests uses in kitchens, offices and even camping.
Who it suits
It suits households that want filtered water without installing anything, offices and rooms where a plumbed filter isn't possible, and people who find gravity pitchers slow. If you want to reduce dissolved minerals, remember that this product is not described as lowering TDS.
What to check before you buy
- Your water: check your local water report to see what you want the filter to address.
- Certification: read the data sheet for the claims that matter to you.

- Charging: you need a USB adapter, which isn't included.
- Replacement filters: note model WD-EDF and how often you will need one.
