The VEVOR 850W Popcorn Maker is a theatre-style countertop machine with an 8 oz kettle, a steel frame and tempered glass doors. It pops corn in batches, drops it onto a heated deck below, and keeps it warm until you scoop it into cups. It is aimed at concession stands, sports events, parties and busy home entertainment rooms.
Kettle size and yield
The "8 oz" refers to the kettle: the amount of kernels it is designed to pop in a single batch. VEVOR says that yields up to 48 cups of popcorn per batch, around 384 oz. Popcorn expands enormously as it pops, which is why a small weight of kernels fills so many cups. VEVOR adds that the kettle needs only a few minutes to preheat, then the popcorn keeps coming at a pace to match a queue.
Three switches
Three switches run the whole unit: Warmer, Stirrer and Pot Heater. The kettle heater (850W) heats the pan, the stirrer keeps kernels and oil moving so they don't scorch, and the warmer controls the heating tube on the deck. Having only three controls makes it easy to hand over to a volunteer or a new staff member.
Keeping popcorn warm
Under the warming deck is a 60W heating tube. Finished popcorn falls onto the deck and stays warm until you serve it. A separate 60W warmer light illuminates the popcorn so it looks inviting through the glass. A hinged cover at the bottom opens so you can scoop popcorn straight out of the deck.
Build and cleaning
The frame is cold-rolled steel with tempered glass panels, and magnetic latches hold the doors closed while giving quick access. Wing nuts on the kettle let you take off the lid and clean the inside thoroughly, and a removable crumb tray catches fallen kernels so you can empty it easily. Let the kettle cool before you clean it, and follow the manual.
What's included
The package comes with a popcorn scoop for filling cups and two spoons, one for measuring corn and one for oil. VEVOR says the parts are made of food-grade materials.
Size and weight
It measures about 15.1 x 13.4 x 23.8 inches (38 x 34 x 60 cm) and weighs 28.7 lb (about 13 kg). It is tall for a countertop appliance, so check shelf and cabinet clearances if you plan to put it away between events, and make sure the counter is sturdy and level.
Who it suits
It suits school fundraisers, clubs, small cinemas and home theatre rooms, as well as party hosts who want the look of a real popcorn stand. If you only want a bowl of popcorn on a quiet evening, a small stovetop or air popper would be simpler.
