The Roborock Q5 Pro+ is a robot vacuum and mop that comes with a self-emptying dock. It maps your home with a laser sensor, cleans on a schedule, and empties its own dustbin into a bag in the dock. The idea is to cut the amount of daily upkeep that robot vacuums usually need.
Suction and brushes
Roborock rates the suction at up to 5500 Pa. Pascals measure the pressure difference the motor creates, and higher numbers generally mean a stronger pull on carpet and in crevices, though brush design and sealing matter too. Roborock fits two rubber roller brushes, which it says help lift pet hair and stubborn dirt. Rubber rollers typically tangle less with hair than bristle brushes do. Suction modes are chosen in the Roborock app according to how dirty the floor is.
Self-emptying dock
After a run, the robot returns to its dock, which pulls the dust out of the 770 ml onboard bin into a 2.5 L dust bag. Roborock says that lets you go up to seven weeks without handling dust, though the real interval depends on your home, pets and how often you run it.
LiDAR navigation and mapping
PreciSense LiDAR uses a spinning laser to measure the room. Roborock lists quick mapping, 3D mapping and multi-level mapping, so the robot can plan an efficient route and keep maps of more than one floor. You can customize routines in the app.
Vacuum and mop together
The Q5 Pro+ can vacuum and mop in the same pass. It has a 180 ml water tank, and you adjust water flow using the button on the tank. A small tank like that suits light mopping of hard floors, and in general robot mops are better for upkeep than for deep scrubbing.
Wi-Fi note
Roborock says the vacuum supports only 2.4G Wi-Fi. If your router offers both bands, switch to 2.4G during setup, as the manual explains. The listing also recommends cleaning the wheels monthly and checking them first if the robot gets stuck.
Size
The listing gives about 13.8 x 17.3 x 17.6 inches (35 x 44 x 45 cm), which includes the dock, and a weight of 16.5 lb (about 7.5 kg).
Who it suits
It suits households with hard floors, carpets or pets that want regular, automatic light cleaning without emptying a bin each time. It's a fit for people comfortable using an app.
What to check before you buy
- Floor types: check how the robot treats your carpets, rugs and thresholds, and keep mopping away from carpet.
- Wi-Fi: make sure you can use a 2.4G network.
- Dock space: leave clear room around the dock, as the manual describes.
- Replacement parts: check bag, filter and brush availability for the long run.
- Tank size: a 180 ml tank limits mopping area per run.
- Condition: the listing asks buyers to make sure the unit is new.
