The ECOVACS DEEBOT N20 PRO PLUS is a robot vacuum and mop that comes with a self-emptying station. It is meant for households that want hard floors and carpets cleaned on a schedule, without carrying a dustbin to the bin after every run. Here is what its main features mean in practice.
A bagless self-emptying station
When a run ends, the robot returns to its station, which pulls the contents of the robot's dustbin into a larger container. ECOVACS says the station can hold debris for up to 45 days. The notable detail is that the container is bagless, so there are no disposable dust bags to buy and fit. You empty the container yourself when it fills. How often that happens depends on the size of your home, whether you have pets and how often you run it.
What 8000Pa suction means
Pascals (Pa) measure the pressure difference the motor creates, and a higher number generally means stronger pull. Brands measure it in different ways, so compare figures from the same maker with care. ECOVACS rates this model at 8000Pa and pairs it with PureCyclone technology and a four-stage filtration system. The brand says this separates about 95% of dust to protect the motor and filter and keep suction steady.
Vibrating mopping
The OZMO Pro 2.0 system uses a mopping pad that vibrates at high frequency. ECOVACS says this helps lift dried-on marks, and that the composite-material pad holds on to dirt. Vibrating pads are usually meant for light to moderate floor stains, not for heavy scrubbing. The app lets you adjust water flow, which matters on sealed floors where you want little moisture.
Anti-tangle brush and navigation
ZeroTangle is the brand's name for a main-brush design that resists wrapping by long human and pet hair. Less wrapped hair typically means less time cutting it away.
For navigation the robot uses TrueMapping, a laser-radar scan that builds a map of your rooms. ECOVACS says mapping takes about eight minutes and that the robot then cleans in systematic rows rather than at random. It also has carpet-detection sensors and high-traction wheels rated to climb 20 mm thresholds. Runtime is listed at up to 300 minutes, so one charge should cover a large floor area.
Control through the app
The ECOVACS HOME app handles suction level, water flow, cleaning modes and schedules. Scheduling suits this kind of robot best: set it for when the house is empty and it will be done before you return.
Size and weight
The unit with its station measures about 14.1 x 17.8 x 15.3 inches (36 x 45 x 39 cm) and weighs 19.2 lb (about 8.7 kg). Leave room next to a wall outlet for the station, with clear space in front so the robot can dock.
What to check before you buy
- Floors: mixed hard floors and low-pile carpet suit it; check how tall your thresholds and rug edges are against the 20 mm figure.
- Space for the station: it needs an outlet and open floor around it.
- Pet hair and long hair: consider how much the anti-tangle brush will help in your home.
- Upkeep: check the manual for how often to empty the container, wash the mop pad and replace the filter and brushes.
- Wi-Fi and app: confirm your phone and home network work with the app.
- Clutter: cables and small items should be picked up before a run, as with any robot vacuum.
