The Roborock Q10 S5+ is a robot vacuum and mop that comes with a self-emptying dock, so it can clean floors with little day-to-day attention. Roborock positions it as an upgrade on the Q8 Max+ and highlights pet hair in particular. Here is what the main specifications mean.
Self-emptying dock and the 70-day claim
After cleaning, the robot returns to its station, which pulls the dust from the robot's bin into a 2.7L dust bag. Roborock says the bag provides up to 70 days of maintenance-free cleaning. How long a bag actually lasts depends on the size of your home, how often you run it and how much dirt and pet hair there is, so treat 70 days as the brand's best case. You still need to replace the bag and check brushes and filters from time to time.
What 10,000 Pa suction means
Pascals (Pa) measure suction pressure. Roborock rates the HyperForce system at 10,000 Pa and says it lifts embedded pet hair, crumbs and debris from carpets, hardwood and crevices. Numbers like this are measured under test conditions, and real-world results also depend on brush design, airflow and the floor type. In general, higher suction helps most on carpet.
Anti-tangle brushes
Hair is the usual cause of jammed robot brushes. The Q10 S5+ has a JawScrapers Comb main brush and a specialised anti-tangle side brush. Roborock says they minimise tangling and reduce how often you need to clean the brushes by hand.
Mopping with VibraRise 2.0
The mop uses dual-zone sonic vibration, scrubbing up to 3,000 times per minute according to Roborock. The mop lifts up to 8 mm on carpets. With ultrasonic carpet detection, the robot identifies carpet, raises the mopping module to avoid wetting it and raises suction for deeper cleaning. The app lets you choose between mopping modes.
Navigation and obstacle avoidance
PreciSense LiDAR scans 360° to build a map of your home, and it supports multi-level mapping so you can keep separate maps for more than one floor. ReactiveTech obstacle avoidance uses structured light to detect objects and steer around them. These systems typically help the robot avoid cables, shoes and furniture legs, though tidying small items first still helps.
App control
The Roborock app handles scheduling, suction level, emptying modes, automatic carpet boost, no-go zones and mopping levels. The listing notes that it supports only 2.4G Wi-Fi, which matters if your router combines or separates its bands.
Size and weight
The package measures about 20.7 x 13.9 x 10.2 inches and weighs 14.8 lb.
Who it suits
It suits households with pets, mixed hard floors and carpets, or busy schedules who want routine cleaning to run on a schedule.
What to check before you buy
- Wi-Fi: confirm your home network offers 2.4 GHz, since only 2.4G is supported.
- Dock space: leave clear room around the dock for the robot to approach and for the bag to be replaced.
- Furniture clearance: measure gaps under furniture against the robot's height.
- Flooring: check how it handles thick rugs, thresholds and dark surfaces.
- Upkeep: plan for replacing dust bags, cleaning brushes and washing the mop.
- Water: read the manual about filling and emptying the tank.
