The Midea Flexify Pro is a 26.4-quart countertop oven that combines an air fryer and a toaster oven, with French doors that open together with one pull. Graphene heating brings it up to temperature quickly, and it has 10 cooking functions, including a pizza mode with four crust settings. It's sized for family meals: a 12-inch pizza or a 5-lb whole chicken fits inside.
Graphene heating: fast warm-up and a wide range
Midea uses graphene heating, which it says responds in 0.2 seconds and reaches 350°F (about 175°C) in three minutes. The temperature range runs from 100°F to 450°F (about 38°C to 230°C). The low end suits dehydrating, slow cooking and keeping food warm, while the high end suits broiling and crisping.
A quick warm-up matters most for short jobs such as toast or reheating, where waiting for a preheat can take longer than the cooking itself. The speed figures are Midea's own.
How air frying works here
An air fryer is essentially a convection oven with a strong fan: hot air moving quickly around the food dries and browns the surface, giving a crisp finish with a light coating of oil instead of a pot of it. In the Flexify Pro's air fry mode, a top turbo fan moves the hot air evenly, and Midea says it uses up to 90% less oil than traditional frying.
As with any air fryer, food crisps more evenly in a single layer with space around it, so the hot air can reach every side.
Ten functions and four pizza crusts
The 10 functions are air fry, roast, bake, broil, toast, pizza, dehydrate, slow cook, reheat and warm. Dehydrating and slow cooking both use long runs at low temperatures, which is where the bottom of the 100°F to 450°F range comes in.
Pizza mode has four crust settings: classic, thin, rising and deep dish. Each crust style needs a different balance of time and heat. A thin crust cooks quickly, while a deep dish needs longer for the centre to cook through before the top over-browns, so a setting for each takes some of the guesswork out.
Capacity and the French doors
The 26.4-quart chamber (about 25 litres) fits a 12-inch (30 cm) pizza, six slices of toast or a 5-lb (about 2.3 kg) whole chicken. Instead of a single door that drops down, the two doors swing outwards and open together with a single pull, so you can reach in with one hand free.
The oven measures 16.9 x 13.7 x 14.3 inches, about 43 x 35 x 36 cm.
Cleaning the enamel interior
The chamber and baking pan are coated in Midea's XpressClean enamel, which resists grease and wipes clean. On any countertop oven, wiping up splatter once the oven has cooled, before it bakes on during the next use, keeps cleaning quick.
Who it suits
It suits families who want one countertop oven for air frying, baking, toasting and pizza, with room for a whole chicken or a family-size pizza.
What to check before you buy
- Counter space: room for 16.9 x 13.7 x 14.3 inches, plus the clearance around and above it that the manual asks for.
- Door room: space at the front and sides for both doors to swing fully open.
- Capacity: whether a 12-inch pizza or a 5-lb chicken covers the dishes you cook most.
- Accessories: which racks, trays and baskets come in the box besides the enamel baking pan.
- Power: the manual's guidance on outlets, since countertop ovens draw a lot of power.
