The Garvee 11,500 BTU mini split is a wall-mounted heat pump that both cools and heats a room, with an indoor unit on the wall and an outdoor unit connected by a line set. It is meant for bedrooms, living areas and similar rooms with no ducting. Here is what the listed features mean.

Cooling and heating with a heat pump

A heat pump moves heat rather than making it, so one system can cool in summer and heat in cooler weather. Garvee lists cooling for room temperatures of 63-90°F and heating for 32-80°F, and says inverter models keep working at outdoor temperatures down to 5°F. Heating output generally falls as the outdoor air gets colder, so check the manual's performance details for your climate.

What 11,500 BTU covers

Garvee says the unit cools up to 750 sq ft (about 70 m²). Insulation, windows, sun and ceiling height all change the real load, and a sizing check by an installer is a sensible step.

Inverter, R32 and ECO mode

Inverter technology adjusts compressor speed rather than switching it fully on and off, which usually gives steadier temperatures and quieter running. Garvee says this applies to inverter models. The system uses R32 refrigerant, which the brand describes as having low environmental impact, and an ECO mode that adjusts operation to reduce energy use. Garvee lists ETL and AHRI certification.

Modes and controls

Garvee lists seven operating modes (Auto, Cool, Heat, Dry, Fan, Sleep, ECO) and seven fan settings from Auto to Turbo. Other features include:

  • Wi-Fi enablement
  • a 24-hour timer
  • 4D auto swing, which moves airflow up-down and left-right
  • child lock
  • "I FEEL" mode, which uses the remote's temperature reading
  • a MUTE function that lowers the indoor fan speed
  • Sleep mode, which adjusts settings after 10 hours

Installation

Garvee states that professional installation by a licensed HVAC technician is required. The unit is pre-charged with refrigerant and supports up to 15 m (49 ft) between indoor and outdoor units on 9K-12K inverter models. It runs on 230V, so check what your electrical panel provides, and follow local codes and the manual.

Upkeep

The air filter is washable; clean it regularly as the manual directs.

Size

Garvee lists dimensions of 31 x 11 x 27 inches and a weight of 67 lb. Check the manual for the split between indoor and outdoor parts.

What to check before you buy

  • Electrical supply: confirm a 230V circuit and breaker are available, using a qualified electrician.
  • Installation: allow time for a licensed HVAC technician and local permit rules.
  • Placement: pick a wall for the indoor unit and a spot for the outdoor unit within 49 ft.
  • Room size and climate: compare 750 sq ft and the cold-weather range with your needs.
  • Wi-Fi: check network and app requirements.
  • Upkeep: plan on filter cleaning.
