The Frizzlife PX600-Black is an under-sink reverse osmosis (RO) drinking water system without a storage tank. It is built for households that want filtered water at a dedicated tap, with a display that reports water quality and filter life. Here is what its main specs mean and what to confirm before choosing it.

What reverse osmosis does

Reverse osmosis pushes water through a very fine membrane that blocks most dissolved solids, while the rejected water is flushed to the drain. Frizzlife describes the PX600 as an 11-stage system with 0.0001 micron filtration, rated to NSF/ANSI 58, 53, 42 and 372. The brand says it reduces chlorine, chloramine, fluoride, lead, arsenic, PFAS and total dissolved solids (TDS). Check the certification documents for the exact claims behind each standard.

Tankless design and space

Traditional RO systems hold treated water in a pressurised tank. The PX600 skips the tank and makes water on demand, which Frizzlife says saves at least 70% of the cabinet space and avoids water sitting in a tank. The unit measures about 22.8 x 8.9 x 20.1 inches (58 x 23 x 51 cm) and weighs 26 lb (about 11.8 kg), so measure the cabinet before you decide.

Flow rate and the 2:1 drain ratio

The system is rated at 600 gallons per day (GPD) with a flow of up to 0.42 gallons per minute. Frizzlife says that fills a 330 ml cup in about 10 seconds. Daily figures like this are measured under set test conditions, and the real output typically depends on your water pressure, temperature and TDS level.

The pure-to-drain ratio is 2:1, meaning about one litre of waste water for every two litres of purified water. Older RO designs often send several litres to the drain for each litre produced, so a lower ratio means less water wasted.

The smart display

An LED panel shows the TDS of the filtered water in real time and tracks the remaining life of each filter. Frizzlife says colour-coded indicators warn you before a filter needs changing. A TDS reading is a useful quick check on how well the membrane is working, though it is not a full measure of water quality.

Installation and filter changes

Frizzlife says the system suits most standard US kitchens, with 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch connections, and that a DIY install takes about 30 minutes. The two large cartridges use a twist-and-pull design, so changing them takes seconds and needs no tools. An optional Frizzlife fridge kit lets the same system supply a refrigerator as well as the sink.

Who it suits

It suits households that want a dedicated drinking-water tap and have limited cabinet space, as well as families who use a lot of filtered water for drinking, cooking and coffee. It is less suited to anyone who needs a whole-home solution, since RO serves a single tap or appliance line.

What to check before you buy

  • Cabinet space: confirm the 22.8 x 8.9 x 20.1 inch footprint fits, with room to reach the cartridges.
  • Water pressure: RO systems typically perform best within a specified pressure range, so check the manual.
  • Drain and faucet: you need a drain connection and a hole or spot for the dedicated faucet.
  • Power: the display and pump need a nearby outlet.
  • Upkeep: check how often each cartridge and the membrane are due for replacement, and that replacements are available.
  • Certifications: read the certified claims for each standard to see they match what you want reduced.

The short version

  • A tankless under-sink RO system rated at 600 GPD, flow up to 0.42 GPM.
  • 11-stage filtration with NSF/ANSI 58, 53, 42 and 372 listed.
  • 2:1 pure-to-drain ratio and an LED display for TDS and filter life.
  • Tool-free twist-and-pull cartridge changes; DIY install in about 30 minutes, per Frizzlife.
  • About 26 lb, so check the space under your sink first.
