The Frizzlife MR600 is an under-sink reverse osmosis (RO) system that supplies filtered drinking water from its own dedicated faucet. Unlike older RO units, it has no pressure tank, so it takes up less cabinet space. Here is what its main specs mean and what to confirm before fitting one.
What reverse osmosis does
In an RO system, water is pushed through a very fine membrane that lets water molecules through while holding back most dissolved solids. Frizzlife quotes a 0.0001 micron membrane and describes an eight-stage filtration path. Before the membrane, filters typically handle sediment and chlorine; afterwards, a polishing stage usually improves taste. The brand lists NSF certification for TDS (total dissolved solids) reduction. Check the certification documents for exactly what is covered.
Tankless design and the built-in pump
Traditional RO systems fill a storage tank and release water under pressure. The MR600 skips the tank and uses a built-in pump to deliver water on demand. Frizzlife says this avoids the possible issue of stored water sitting in a tank, and that it saves at least 80% of the space compared with tank systems. The pump means the unit needs a power connection, so confirm there is an outlet nearby.
Flow rate and the 3:1 ratio
The MR600 is rated at 600 gallons per day, with a flow rate of up to 0.42 gallons per minute. Frizzlife says a 330 ml cup fills in about 10 seconds. The 3:1 pure-to-drain ratio means that, per the brand, three parts of filtered water are produced for every one part sent to the drain. Older designs commonly waste more water, so a higher ratio generally means less going down the drain.
Filters and the life monitor
The system uses two large filter cartridges. They have a twist-and-pull design that Frizzlife says allows a change in about three seconds without tools. A filter life monitor on the operation panel shows when a replacement is due, so you do not have to keep track by calendar. Ask about replacement cartridge availability before buying.
Installation and fridge connection
Frizzlife describes the MR600 as DIY-friendly, with installation taking around 30 minutes, and compatible with most standard US kitchens using 3/8" and 1/2" connections. It can also supply a refrigerator when used with Frizzlife's fridge kit (sold separately). The unit measures about 12 x 4 x 12 inches and weighs 19.8 lb.
The brand notes that RO water can show many tiny bubbles when poured; this is a normal effect of air in the water.
