The ECOVACS DEEBOT T50 PRO OMNI is a robot vacuum and mop that comes with a base station handling much of its upkeep. It is only 3.19 inches (81 mm) tall, so it can reach under low furniture. Here is what its main features mean for a home.

Slim body for low furniture

ECOVACS says the 3.19-inch height lets the robot slip under sofas, beds, cabinets, TV stands and coffee tables. Height matters because many robot vacuums need a gap of around four inches or more, and low spaces collect the most hidden dust. Measure your own furniture clearances to be sure.

What 15,000Pa suction means

Pascals (Pa) measure suction pressure. ECOVACS rates this model at 15,000Pa. Higher figures are generally linked to better pickup on carpet, but real performance also depends on airflow, brush design and floor type, so treat the number as one factor among several.

ZeroTangle 2.0 is the brand's anti-tangle brush design, which ECOVACS says reduces hair wrapping and so cuts down on cutting hair off the brush. The listing describes it as suited to homes with short-haired pets.

Reaching edges and corners

Robot vacuums are round, so corners are a common weak spot. TruEdge 2.0 extends both the side brush and the mop outward toward walls. ECOVACS says this gives full edge-to-edge coverage with 15 mm precision.

Obstacle avoidance and navigation

AIVI 3D 3.0 uses sensors to detect objects such as toys, cables and furniture. ECOVACS says it recognises more than 100 household objects and avoids them with 1 mm precision, leading to fewer interruptions. In general, good obstacle avoidance matters most in homes where small items are often left on the floor.

The OMNI Station

The base station automates maintenance. ECOVACS lists it as a 10-in-1 station that:

  • washes the mop with 167°F hot water;
  • dries it with 113°F hot air;
  • empties the robot's dustbin automatically;
  • refills water and dispenses cleaning solution;
  • detects dirt.

It also lets you control the robot with natural voice or text commands through the YIKO-GPT assistant. Note that the robot supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, not 5GHz.

Size

The listing gives dimensions of 13.8 x 21.0 x 15.9 inches (about 35 x 53 x 40 cm) for the product as packaged with its station, so plan a spot for the station near an outlet.

Who it suits

It suits busy households with mixed hard floors and carpets, homes with low furniture, and people who want to reduce the routine upkeep of emptying a dustbin and washing mops by hand.

What to check before you buy

  • Furniture height: confirm the robot fits under the pieces you want cleaned.
  • Wi-Fi: you need a 2.4GHz network for setup.
  • Station space: allow room for the station, with a power outlet and clear space in front.
  • Floors: check how the mop handles your flooring, and that you remove loose cables and rugs with fringes.
  • Consumables: brushes, mop pads, filters and dust bags wear out; check the manual for schedules.
  • Water tanks: the station has clean and dirty water tanks that need refilling and emptying.
