The COSORI CO108-NK is a 1200W electric kettle with a long, curved gooseneck spout. It is designed for pour-over coffee and tea, where the speed and placement of the water matter as much as its temperature. Its capacity is 0.8 L. Here is what the features mean.
Why a gooseneck spout
A standard kettle pours quickly and unevenly. A gooseneck spout narrows the stream so you can pour slowly in circles over coffee grounds. COSORI says the precision spout and counterbalanced handle help you pour steadily, and the ergonomic design is meant to give you control of the water flow. That control is the main reason people choose this shape.
Five temperature presets
Different drinks suit different water temperatures. In general, delicate teas are brewed cooler, while coffee is typically brewed near boiling. COSORI offers five one-touch presets, including a COFFEE preset at 205°F. The listing says the kettle holds temperature within ±5°F.
Hold temperature
A HOLD TEMP function keeps the water at the chosen temperature for up to one hour. That helps if you brew several cups or get distracted partway through. COSORI says that if you lift the kettle while heating a Hold Temp preset, it continues heating if you return it to the base within one minute.
The ready tone
The kettle beeps three times when the water reaches the preset temperature. Holding HOLD TEMP for 8 seconds turns the beep off.
Materials
The interior, lid and spout use food-grade 304 stainless steel, and the inner lid and bottom are described as 100% stainless steel. COSORI says this avoids a plastic taste. The description notes that spots or rust marks can appear on a stainless bottom after first use when the local water is very hard.
Using and cleaning it
COSORI advises filling with at least 118 mL of water, not above the MAX line, and wiping any water from the outside and base. For descaling, its instructions describe boiling a mix of 1 cup of vinegar or lemon juice and 2 cups of water, letting it stand for two hours, then wiping, rinsing and drying. Repeat as needed and follow the manual.
Size
The kettle measures about 11.6 x 9.0 x 7.7 inches and weighs 3.5 lb. The 0.8 L capacity is enough for a couple of cups, so it is a small kettle and not a family teapot filler.
Who it suits
It suits pour-over coffee makers, people who brew a range of teas, and anyone who wants a small kettle that gets to a set temperature. If you mostly make large pots of tea or instant drinks, a bigger kettle may be more practical. COSORI also presents it in a gift box.
What to check before you buy
- Capacity: 0.8 L is small; consider how much water you use per brew.
- Presets: check the manual for the five temperatures and whether they match your drinks.
- Water hardness: hard water may leave marks, so plan to descale.
- Counter space: you need room for the base and the long spout.
- Beeping: the tone can be turned off if you prefer quiet.
- Hand fit: check that the handle suits your grip.
