The VEVOR 65L-B is a large aluminum alloy top case that bolts to a motorcycle's rear rack. It gives touring riders a lockable, weather-resistant place for helmets, clothing and luggage, and it doubles as a passenger backrest. Here is what the specifications mean and what to confirm before fitting one.

What 65 litres holds

Capacity is the headline. VEVOR says the 65-litre case fits two full-face helmets, a complete riding suit, multi-day luggage including shoes and clothes, plus a water bottle, umbrella, gloves and a raincoat. For comparison, many top cases sit in the 30 to 50 litre range and hold a single helmet. A case this size is aimed at longer trips or riders carrying a passenger.

The outside measures about 23.1 x 17.5 x 13.7 inches (roughly 59 x 44 x 35 cm) and weighs 18.6 lb (about 8.4 kg) empty, so it is a big, heavy item to carry at the back of a bike.

The shell and liner

The shell is 1.5 mm aluminum alloy, which VEVOR describes as wear- and drop-resistant, with reinforced corner bumpers. Aluminum is typically lighter than steel and does not rust, though it can dent. Inside, a removable padded liner cushions the contents, which helps protect items such as helmets and electronics from knocks.

Weather resistance and the lock

The case is described as sealed, with waterproof and dustproof protection against heavy rain and dusty conditions. Seals reduce water entry rather than make a case submarine-proof, so it is sensible to pack anything delicate in a bag inside it. A stainless steel security lock secures the lid while parked. A lock deters casual theft but is not a guarantee, so avoid leaving valuables in it unattended.

Mounting

The base has 25 mounting holes. VEVOR says this fits a wide range of bikes, including Harley, Yamaha, touring models and standard motorcycles, and that you align the base with your tail rack with no drilling required. Hole patterns vary between racks, so check that at least a set of holes lines up with your rack's mounting points.

Always respect your motorcycle's rear rack and luggage weight limits, which are in the owner's manual. A loaded 65-litre case adds significant weight far behind the rear axle, which changes how the bike handles.

Comfort and visibility

A thick back cushion gives a passenger or rider lumbar support. VEVOR also includes two types of reflective stickers to improve visibility in low light.

Who it suits

This case suits touring and commuting riders who need room for two helmets or several days of luggage, and riders who want a rigid case rather than a soft tail bag. Riders of small bikes with limited rack capacity may prefer a smaller case.

What to check before you buy

  • Rack fit: confirm your rear rack's hole spacing and size against the 25-hole base.
  • Load limit: check the rack and motorcycle weight limits in your manual.
  • Size and weight: the case is deep and heavy; make sure it does not interfere with the passenger seat, tail light or turn signals.
  • Helmet size: if you plan to carry two full-face helmets, check the interior against your helmets.
  • Keys and lock: keep a spare key somewhere other than the case.
  • Upkeep: check the instructions for cleaning the liner and caring for the seals.
