VEVOR 3/4 Ton Underhoist Stand: height range, base and how to use it

A 3/4 ton (1650 lb) steel underhoist support stand with a triangular base, wheels and a 43.3 to 70.9 inch range. What the specs mean and what to check.

The VEVOR underhoist stand is a red steel pole jack with a screw-adjustable column, a triangular base and two wheels. According to VEVOR, it supports vehicle components, such as exhaust systems and shock absorbers, during under-vehicle repair. It is a support tool for the workshop, not a lifting device for the whole vehicle.

What an underhoist stand is for

This kind of stand is a tall, slim pole with a saddle on top. A mechanic positions it under a component, raises the saddle until it takes the weight, and then works on the part. VEVOR lists the exhaust system and shock absorbers as typical uses. Because it is slender, it fits into tight spaces under a vehicle better than a bulky stand.

The 3/4 ton capacity

VEVOR gives the stand a capacity of 3/4 ton, or 1650 lb. That figure is the maximum load the stand supports, so consider the weight of the part, not the vehicle, and stay well within the limit. Follow the manual on load limits and on how the load should be positioned on the saddle.

Height range and adjustment

The stand extends from 43.3 inches (1.1 m) to 70.9 inches (1.8 m). Two systems set the height:

  • Seven holes in the column, for coarse adjustment with a pin.
  • An all-thread screw rod worked by the spin handle, for fine adjustment to the exact working height.

The handle includes a thrust bearing, which VEVOR says makes it easy to raise and lower even under a heavy load. Thrust bearings reduce friction on the screw, so the handle turns more smoothly under pressure.

Saddle, base and wheels

A large saddle with a rubber pad grips the load and, VEVOR says, avoids slipping and damage to the work surface. The triangular base, or tripod, is designed for stability when working under a car, and two nylon wheels make it easier to move around the garage. The tray diameter is 4.7 inches (12 cm). The stand weighs 27.6 lb (12.5 kg).

Construction

VEVOR says the stand is made from rugged, high-grade steel that resists distortion and twisting. The finish is red, and the package contains one stand.

A note on safe working practice

An underhoist stand supports a component. It is not a replacement for jack stands that hold a raised vehicle. Work on level, firm ground, use appropriate protective equipment, and follow the manual and the vehicle manufacturer's guidance.

Who it suits

It suits home mechanics and workshop users who regularly remove or replace exhaust sections, shocks and other under-vehicle parts, and need an adjustable support to hold them in place.

What to check before you buy

  • Load: check the weight of the parts you plan to support against the 1650 lb limit.
  • Height: confirm that 43.3 to 70.9 inches covers the clearance under your vehicle.
  • Floor: a smooth, level surface works best for the wheels and base.
  • Saddle fit: make sure the saddle suits the shape of the part you plan to support.
  • Storage: it is 70.9 inches tall at full extension, so plan for the lowest height when storing it.
  • Inspection: check the screw, pin holes and welds before each use, as the manual describes.

The short version

  • A steel pole-style support stand with a 3/4 ton (1650 lb) capacity.
  • Height 43.3 to 70.9 inches with seven pin holes and an all-thread screw for fine adjustment.
  • Rubber-padded saddle, triangular base and two nylon wheels.
  • Bearing-mounted spin handle; weighs 27.6 lb.
  • A component support, not a substitute for vehicle jack stands.
