The REDTIGER T700R is a dash cam built into a rear-view mirror. It records the road ahead in 4K and the view behind in 1080P, and it uses an 11-inch touch screen as a wide mirror. Here is what the specs mean and what to consider before fitting one.

Front and rear recording

REDTIGER says the front camera records up to 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) and the rear camera records 1920 x 1080. Higher resolution generally helps with reading road signs and number plates, though results also depend on lighting, speed and distance. The front lens has a 170° field of view and the rear 150°, which the brand says reduces blind areas.

Night vision

For low light, REDTIGER lists an F1.5 aperture, a six-glass lens, and WDR and HDR processing. A wide aperture lets in more light, and WDR and HDR help balance bright headlights against dark surroundings. They are meant to make footage clearer after dark, though low light remains harder for any camera.

The 11-inch mirror screen

The touch screen is wider than a traditional mirror, and it doubles as the control panel. The rear view appears on it, so the mirror shows the road behind rather than only what the glass reflects.

Parking assistance

When you put the car in reverse, the mirror switches automatically to the rear image with adjustable guide lines, and you set the lines yourself. The rear camera image can also be flipped 180°, so the camera can be mounted upside down. REDTIGER mentions this makes fitting easier on pickup trucks and RVs.

GPS and speed

An included GPS module records location, live speed (in mph or km/h) and direction. Footage can be replayed with a dedicated GPS player, so the route and speed appear alongside the video.

Loop recording, G-sensor and parking monitor

Typical dash cam features are listed:

  • Loop recording overwrites the oldest unlocked and locked footage when the card is full.
  • The G-sensor automatically locks and saves video after a sudden shock or collision.
  • Parking monitor works as a surveillance camera while the vehicle is off, but REDTIGER says a dedicated hardwire kit is needed, which you request from the brand.

A 32 GB card is included in the package, according to the listing. Higher-resolution video fills a card quickly, so many people use a larger one.

Size

The mirror measures 13.4 x 4.8 x 3.0 inches (about 34 x 12 x 7.6 cm) and weighs 0.8 lb (about 360 g).

Who it suits

It suits drivers who want both front and rear recording and a bigger rear view in one unit, including pickup and RV owners who need a flexible rear camera mount.

What to check before you buy

  • Fit: confirm the mirror fits over your existing one and that the width suits your vehicle.
  • Rear camera cable: check the cable route from the rear camera to the mirror, especially in long vehicles.
  • Power: check the power connection and whether you need the hardwire kit for parking mode.
  • Storage: consider a larger memory card for long recordings.
  • Local rules: check local laws on recording, mirror replacement and windscreen mounting.

The short version

  • 11-inch touch-screen mirror dash cam with GPS.
  • 4K front camera and 1080P rear camera, 170° and 150° lenses.
  • F1.5 aperture and WDR/HDR for low light.
  • Reversing view with adjustable guide lines.
  • Loop recording, G-sensor lock; parking monitor needs a hardwire kit.
