The Auxbeam AS-R60 is a slim six-switch panel for controlling add-on lights and accessories on a truck, boat, ATV or other 12-24V vehicle. It gathers the switching for several devices in one place, with a colour-adjustable backlight and a control box that handles the load. Here is what its listed features mean.
Six switches, three modes
Each of the six switches can be set to one of three behaviours, according to Auxbeam:
- Toggle: the device stays on until you press the switch again.
- Momentary: the device is on only while the switch is held, which suits a horn.
- Pulsed: the device strobes, for lights where that is appropriate.
That range lets one panel run steady work lights, a horn and a flashing light, without extra relays for each job.
RGB backlight and auto-dimming
The backlight offers a wide choice of RGB colours, so it can be matched to the dash. The listing says the backlight brightens in bright surroundings and dims in dim ones, to avoid eye strain at night. The brand also mentions that features of the panel are covered by a U.S. design patent, number D1,080,564 S. A single press of the MODE button turns the backlight off completely.
Memory function
The ON/OFF button, besides powering the panel, has a memory function. When you press it, the panel restores the light settings from before it was turned off, so you do not have to set each switch again.
Protection
The control box has built-in solid-state relays, and the package includes a resettable circuit breaker. Auxbeam says this guards against reverse polarity, overcurrent, overvoltage and overheating. A silicone cover protects the panel from water splashes. As with any added circuit, follow the manual for fusing and wiring, and do not exceed the stated current limits.
Mounting and compatibility
Auxbeam describes the panel as suitable for 12-24V vehicles, including trucks, boats, cars, buses, off-road vehicles, powersports, marine uses, ATVs, UTVs, SUVs, side-by-sides and heavy-duty machines. Two kinds of mounting brackets and double-sided tape are included, so you can fix it to a dash panel, a centre console or an overhead sunglasses holder, among other spots.
What it does not do
The listing states plainly that the AS-R60 does not support Bluetooth app control. It is a wired, button-operated panel. A three-year warranty is listed.
Who it suits
A slim six-switch panel suits drivers who need a handful of controls and have limited space, such as in a small cab, a boat helm or a side-by-side. If you need more than six circuits, an eight-switch panel is a sensible step up, and if you want phone control, look at a model that lists it.
What to check before you buy
- Panel size: measure the mounting spot against the slim panel and bracket.
- Number of circuits: count the devices you want to switch now, and any you might add later.
- Total load: compare the combined current with the breaker's limit and your wiring.
- Control box position: plan where the box can sit, dry and reachable.
- Controls: confirm you are happy with a button-only panel, with no app.
